GCAA meets the First Friday of the month 2 to 4pm at Orange Grove Library, 12135 Old Highway 49,Gulfport.

Established in 1926, GCAA strives to encourage visual arts and welcomes professional artists, photographers, potters, gallery owners, art devotees, and creative people along the Mississippi Coast for learning and sharing the joy of art and fellowship.

Hello!

Gulf Coast Art Association is looking for a busy November. A show with members' art for sale, is planned at Negrotto's Frame shop from the 10th to the 21st with a reception November 12.

Also, a raffle is presently being held for an Alfonso floral painting with tickets available from GCAA members and at the Coldwell Banker office by Lorraine Road. Tickets are $5.00 each or $20.00 for five tickets. The winning ticket will be drawn at the Ohr Museum November 19th, when The Ohr offers a free Thursday admission activity.

The GCAA Centennial Celebration will be at the Ohr on the 19th of November with a reception to honor GCAA Founder William Woordward as well as local artist Josephine Alfonso who became a member of the Association at a young age, in 1928.

The Association appreciates the support of the Harrison County Board of Supervisors.

Greetings Everyone.

The GCAA October regular meeting is rescheduled for this Friday, the 16th at the Orange Grove Library at 2:00pm.

Presentation of acrylic techniques will begin at 2:00pm. with Renee' Gibson, acrylic painter.

Review of the recent exhibit at the MGCCC, Jefferson Davis Campus will follow and votes for the two favorite works will be counted for the winners to be announced.

It will be reminded that the GCAA Founders' works are hung to be viewed this week at the Ohr Museum. The Ohr Free Third Thursday event begins at 5:00pm on the 15th, the evening prior to our meeting on Friday.
This exhibit is to continue through December 12. A reception is to be held November the 19th, 5:00 to 6:00pm. with the drawing for a Josephine Alfonso floral painting at 6:00.
Tickets are available at the Coldwell Banker office by Lorraine Road at $5.00 per ticket or $20.00 for 5 tickets.

Members will have art for sale at Negrotto's Frame shop, beginning November 11th with a reception on November 12th at 5:00pm.

Details are to be discussed for the activities to come and our appreciation to the Harrison County Board of Supervisors for their support will be remembered.

Blessings through the hurricane/tropical storm weather.

As a result of those weather conditions, there will be no regular meeting of GCAA tomorrow.

October Greetings,

The Association will meet this Friday, October 9th at the Orange Grove Library at 2:00pm, a diversion from our regular meeting date as the library had an event scheduled for the first Friday of this month.

Also, the GCAA members' Preview art show is still open this week, through the 8th, at the MGCCC, Jefferson Davis Campus. When you visit, we would appreciate your vote for two favorite works. Votes are to be counted this Friday.

An Association Founders' show is to be hung at the Ohr Museum next week and will be open for the Ohr Third Thursday Free event on the 15th after 5:00pm.
A reception will be held at the November 19th Ohr Third Thursday event with a drawing for an original Josephine Alfonso floral which is raffled. Raffle tickets are available at the Coldwell Banker office by Lorraine Road at the present time. Tickets are $5.00 each or five tickets for $20.00.

As we move through the rest of this year's GCAA events, we continue to be thankful for support from the Harrison County Board of Supervisors.

Good evening,

Thank you to all who attended the Reception for the GCAA Preview Exhibit at the MGCCC, Jefferson Davis Campus gallery today to visit and enjoy the refreshments.
We appreciate and thank MGCCC Art Director Cecily Cummings who graciously provided the opportunity and made the reception a special and enjoyable event.
This exhibit continues until October 9 with a "Vote for your two favorite works" for everyone who visits.

An original floral painting by previous Association member Josephine Alfonso has been donated by Nancy Creel for a raffle and is now available to view at the Coldwell Banker Office on Lorraine Road where tickets are available for $5.00 each or $20.00 for five tickets.

The next regular meeting is October 9th at the Orange Grove Library at 2:00pm when plans for the remainder of this year will be discussed with appreciation going to the Harrison County Board of Supervisors for their support.

Autumn Greetings,

The Art Association moves into autumn with a raffle for an original floral painting by Miss Josephine Alfonso, donated by Mrs. Nancy Creel of Gulfport. The work is available to view at the Coldwell Banker office on Lorraine Road where tickets are also available.

Tickets are $5.00 each or $20.00 for five and the drawing is to take place on the evening of November 19th at the Ohr Museum around a show and reception to celebrate 100 years since GCAA began in November 1926.

This celebration is to spotlight GCAA Founder William Woodward and Miss Josephine Alfonso. Some of their works are to be hung at the Ohr before its October 15th, Third Thursday free event to which all are invited to attend.

Gulf Coast Art Association begins fall exhibitions with a Preview exhibit at the MGCCC, Jefferson Davis Campus gallery (2226 Switzer Road, Gulfport 39507) this week.

The Gallery is open from 8:00am-3:00pm, weekdays with a reception planned on Thursday, September 24th at 12:30-1:30pm. Artists will be available to share refreshments and visit at that time.

Appreciation goes to the Harrison County Board of Supervisors for their support.

Autumn Plans...

The Association moves into September with plans for an exhibit to open at the MGCCC, Jefferson Davis Campus next week, September 7 to October 9.

Details are to be finalized Friday at the regular monthly meeting at the Orange Grove Library at 2:00pm.
Also, plans for October and November shows continue to develop with receptions for each.

As always, we appreciate support from the Harrison County Board of Supervisors to help us celebrate during this Centennial Year!
