We ride for the cause — not the applause.
This is more than chrome and horsepower.
It’s commitment. It’s camaraderie. It’s continuing the mission of service to veterans, our communities, and our great State of Oklahoma.
If you’re ready to turn the throttle with purpose and let your selfless service begin on the back of your motorcycle, we invite you to join us.
Stand with something bigger than yourself.
Ride with those who understand.
For God, Country, and Service

“We had a small number of family members come through that had lost loved ones to su***de who shared their stories and tears with us and their thanks for putting this together to bring awareness and hopes that maybe it would prevent one more from giving in and one less family to have to endure the tragedy."
Among the things Steven Thomas wanted to do during his term as The American Legion Department of Oklahoma commander was to raise awareness and help prevent veteran su***de.
Check out just how he and other Oklahoma members worked to do just that: https://www.legion.org/information-center/news/be-the-one/2025/november/oklahoma-legion-family-others-stand-vigil-to-honor-the-22.

Happy Birthday, American Legion Riders!

Today, we celebrate 32 years of riding for the cause, not the applause.

Since their founding in 1993 at Post 396 in Garden City, Michigan, the American Legion Riders have grown into one of the most spirited and service-driven programs in The American Legion family. What began with two Legionnaires and a shared love of motorcycles and veterans’ service has become a nationwide brotherhood and sisterhood of patriots united by duty, freedom, and the open road.

Across America, and right here in the Department of Oklahoma, our Riders live the mission of the Four Pillars every single day supporting veterans, standing for patriotism, protecting our communities, and investing in the next generation of Americans.

So to every Rider across our great state thank you for your passion, your sacrifice, and your unwavering commitment to making a difference wherever those wheels roll.

Happy Birthday, American Legion Riders of Oklahoma!
Keep riding with purpose. Keep serving with pride.
