💙 Happy Camp Counselor Appreciation Day! 💙

Today we’re celebrating the incredible counselors who make the magic happen.

From Family Weekend, to OHDAKA Nature Day Camp, to Camp Two Roads, these young women show up with energy, patience, creativity, and heart. They lead songs they don’t always feel like singing, cheer the loudest during games, stay up late comforting homesick campers, wake up early ready to do it all again, and somehow still find the time to make every camper feel seen and valued.

They’re role models, adventure guides, big sisters, mentors, and some of the biggest champions our campers will ever have.

The campfire songs, inside jokes, muddy hikes, dance parties, friendship bracelets, encouraging words, and unforgettable memories don’t happen by accident—they happen because of counselors who pour so much of themselves into making camp special.

To every past, present, and future SSA counselor: thank you. Your impact reaches far beyond one week of camp. The confidence you build, the friendships you foster, and the memories you help create stay with our campers for a lifetime.

PEARL Weekend creates space for connection—the kind that happens around campfires, over coffee, during crafts, and while sharing stories in a cabin late at night.

Happy 250th Birthday, America!

Each morning at Ohdaka Day Camp begins with campers gathering to raise the American flag before heading off to explore the forests, trails, and rivers of Oxbow.

That simple tradition reminds us to be thankful for the freedoms that allow children to learn, grow, play, and connect with the natural world.

Every smile, every dusty shoe, every new friendship, and every adventure is part of a mission made possible because we're free to build community through the outdoors.

Today we're celebrating 250 years of America with gratitude—and looking forward to inspiring the next generation of explorers for years to come.

☠️ That's a wrap on Pirates in the Park 2026! ⚓💚

What an unforgettable week of adventure at Ohdaka Day Camp!

Our crews crafted pirate hats, learned to read treasure maps, explored the forests of Oxbow, built new friendships, and set sail on the Lost Lagoon Quest in search of Captain Salmonberry's long-lost treasure. Along the way we uncovered clues, solved puzzles, dug for buried treasure, discovered the wonders of nature, and proved that the greatest treasure of all is the memories we make together.

From fishing and outdoor cooking to wilderness skills, crafts, songs, games, and plenty of pirate laughs, every camper embraced the adventure with curiosity, kindness, and courage.

Thank you to our incredible campers, families, counselors, junior counselors, volunteers, and staff for making this week so special. You reminded us that adventure is always better when it's shared.

🏴☠️ Only 2 Spots Left on the Ohdaka Crew! 🏴‍☠️

The ship is nearly full! We have just 2 spots remaining for adventurers entering 1st, 5th, or 6th grade this fall.

Set sail with us June 22–26 at Oxbow Park for a week of treasure-worthy adventures, outdoor exploration, new friendships, and pirate fun.

When these last spots are claimed, the gangway closes and our crew is complete!

At Ohdaka Day Camp, kids spend their days exploring trails, building confidence, creating friendships, and actually getting outside. From outdoor games and wilderness skills to crafts, campfires, and hands-on adventures — every day brings something new.

A week at home might pass by.
A week at Ohdaka becomes a memory they’ll talk about long after summer ends.
