CASA Volunteers can change these kids' future by providing highly impactful advocacy, speaking up for each's unique needs, and helping keep everyone involved moving toward positive permanent resolution. How do you help children in crisis? BECOME A CASA VOLUNTEER!

100% of the county's children who are placed into this overwhelmed foster care system are assigned to be served by CASA for Hunt County. Right now, we do not have enough volunteer advocates. That means CASA staff is working to advocate for these children, but it's not the best solution. These children NEED someone to look out for just them, get to know their unique needs, and build rapport and trust with.

CASA volunteers get to know a child and gather information from everyone involved in THEIR life — family members, foster parents, teachers, and social workers — then report to a judge to advocate for the child’s best interests. You’ll help ensure the child’s needs are met while supporting their journey toward a stable, loving home, striving for reunification whenever it is safe and possible.

You can do this! We'll train you, then coach you through the casework. It's YOU that will make a difference in a child's future.

Hurry, the application deadline is June 15 for the CASA Volunteer Training Course. We have children RIGHT NOW that need a CASA Volunteer!

Let's hear it for Michaela completing her first year of advocacy!

Her supervisor shared, "Michaela is such a joy to work with. It is amazing how quickly she connected with all on her case - placement, parents, and professionals but especially the kids. Even when advocating passionately for the children she serves, Michaela continues to have an upbeat demeanor and almost always has a smile on her face. She is absolutely making a lasting difference for her kiddos!"

We are so thankful for Bill Trelc's 5 years as an advocate! Bill's supervisor shared, "I recently spoke to the youth Bill advocates for, and he told me how excited he was each time Bill visits him. The youth knows Bill and his wife/co-CASA will show up each month and that they will most likely have some Dallas Cowboys merch for him! I am so thankful for Bill being a consistent presence for this young man and a strong voice for him in court."

Today we are celebrating our CASA Volunteer, Lori Barber. Lori's supervisor says, "Lori is a dedicated and passionate advocate for the children she serves. She is thorough and detailed oriented. It is clear that her desire is for every child she serves to have nothing less than what they deserve. Lori was awarded Rookie of the Year for 2025, for such an outstanding job her first year of advocacy!"

Since this flyer was created in mid-May, the number of Hunt County children removed from their homes due to abuse and placed into the foster care system has increased.
