Feel Good Friday
Last month, Wylie ISD teacher Rosanna Strickland was involved in a head-on collision on FM 982 near Princeton. The first person to discover the scene, an off-duty police officer, quickly climbed into Rosanna’s vehicle to help. When it became evident that Rosanna was stuck, the officer tended to her injuries and prayed with her while they waited for first responders to arrive. That off-duty officer? Our very own Lt. Flatt.
In a wonderfully surprising development, Rosanna later learned that Lt. Flatt’s daughter, Ashlee, is one of the nurses at the hospital now helping her recover.
Lt. Flatt’s heroic and selfless acts are a true reflection of his character and demonstrate the positive impact he makes in our community, both on and off duty. We applaud and thank Lt. Flatt for his quick thinking and compassion while responding to the collision. Lt. Flatt will receive the Princeton Police Department’s Civic Achievement Award for his actions.
