Saturday was the absolute best! Qavah had a fall festival for a local neighborhood in need. The kids played games and the parents were able to “shop” (items were free) for hygiene items that they need. Thank you to everyone that donated from our Amazon wishlist and thank you to HEB Rockwall for donating $1000 so that we could get additional hygiene items that were needed! That was a FUN shopping trip! Kelly and I feel so honored that with your help we get to love on children and their families in and around Rockwall. We couldn’t do this without the support of our friends, family, and businesses in our community. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

We also want to thank YMSL and NCL for volunteering.

On Friday, Cheyenne and Kelly were blessed to be able to honor the CPS caseworkers serving Rockwall County with an awards luncheon. Qavah the Storehouse along with Rainbow Room of Rockwall and Rockwall County Child Welfare Board members were able to donate awards, raffles items and swag bags. A big thank you to H-E-B for their generosity of food, location and flowers! Being on the front lines protecting children is often a difficult and thankless job; we are grateful for those who serve in this capacity!

💙 DID YOU KNOW? 💙

There are some very basic necessities that families receiving SNAP cannot purchase with their benefits.

Things we often take for granted can become a real burden for a family who is already struggling to make ends meet.

SNAP does not cover things like:

🧴 Shampoo & conditioner
🧼 Body wash & soap
🧴 Deodorant
🪥 Toothbrushes & toothpaste
🧴 Lotion & face wash
🪒 Razors & shaving cream
💇‍♀️ Hairbrushes & combs
🩷 Feminine hygiene products
👶 Diapers & pull-ups
🧻 Wipes

These aren’t luxuries. They’re necessities.

We have an opportunity to come alongside a community in need and provide some of these simple, everyday essentials that can make a much bigger difference than we realize.

We have the privilege of hosting a Back to School Bash this weekend and we are so excited! We have some kids that are in need of back packs and school supplies. We would love for you to pick a child off of our list and help make their back to school experience special.

After gathering together this past weekend, we have been given a list of more kiddos in the community who are in need of backpacks that we are hoping to bless!!! In Texas alone, over 1,000 young adults age out of foster care annually. Many enter adulthood without the family support, resources, or safety net that others rely on—placing them at greater risk for homelessness, unemployment, and financial instability.
At Qavah the Storehouse, we believe every young adult deserves opportunity, support, and hope for the future.
