Today, we’re sharing a little behind-the-scenes look at our October cover shoot over at the LOA football field back in September.

It was a seriously hot day out there on the turf, but these students and coaches from Greene County High School and Lake Oconee Academy were absolute troopers posing for us in the heat of the day! We had such a blast bringing this story to life and seeing the incredible collaborative spirit between these schools firsthand.

With the excitement of the October 2nd matchup still fresh, our new October issue is on its way to your mailboxes! 🏈

This month’s cover, "Two Sidelines. One Hometown," takes a closer look at the incredible collaborative efforts between students from Greene County High School and Lake Oconee Academy. We all know how much this community loves Friday night football, but the real story happens after the stadium lights turn off.

While they might wear different jerseys on game day, these local kids share the same roots, community programs, and goals for the future. It’s a beautiful reminder that long after the clock hits zero, we are all just neighbors growing up in the exact same hometown.

Our September issue is officially here! 📖

This month, we’re shining a light on LaVerne Ogletree and her lifelong commitment to preserving the history of Greene County.

Our cover story, “Guarding the Past,” takes us through LaVerne’s journey from growing up on her family’s farm in Greshamville to nearly 50 years of involvement with the Greene County Historical Society. She’s spent decades helping make sure the stories, people and places that shaped our community aren’t forgotten.

We’re so excited for you to read her story and learn more about the history right here in our own backyard!
