Greene County Habitat’s story began with Patricia White and her three children.

In 1997, more than 200 people from across Greene County came together to complete our first Habitat home in just four months. Patricia purchased the home with an affordable mortgage and proudly paid it off in 2015. John Ludwig, one of our founders and Patricia’s mentor, joined her for the mortgage burning.

As we approach our 30th anniversary, we are honored to look back at the family who helped begin this story and the community that made it possible. 🏡
