The Colorado FFA Foundation seeks resources - human, financial and in-kind - to support agricultural education in Colorado, including students (FFA, ATA and CYFEA), teachers (CVATA) and alumni. In 1983, a group of volunteers organized the Colorado FFA Foundation to provide a strong support system for the Colorado FFA Association and its student members. In 1989, the Foundation was incorporated as

a non-profit entity and began actively seeking funds to support Colorado Team Ag Ed and its members by funding leadership development, personal growth and career success activities, events and scholarships. In the past five years, the Foundation has raised and invested more than $500,000 in Coloradoโ€™s young people.

Hello, my name is Kylee, and I am from the Revere FFA chapter! I am just starting my junior year of high school. This year, I was selected as a grant recipient for the Colorado FFA Foundation SAE Grant. I was able to put this money toward my baking business that I started at the end of my freshman year, called Creekside Treats. This grant helped me be able to purchase a large refrigerator, a KitchenAid, mixing bowls, a storage cabinet, as well as baking pans and utensils! I am able to use this equipment every day to fill orders, big and small. I take individual orders, as well as larger orders, graduations, banquets, weddings, and other events! I hope to continue to grow my SAE and possibly have a brick-and-mortar bake shop after high school! I want to thank the Colorado Pork Producers Council for their sponsorship and for helping my business grow!

Hi, my name is Connor, and I am a sophomore from the McClave FFA chapter. I applied for this grant for a couple of reasons. I was looking to grow my cattle herd and a heifer grant would be a great opportunity to do so. I also wanted to gain hands-on experience in the agricultural industry. I have been able to achieve both of these things because of the kindness of my sponsor. I am incredibly grateful and honored to be a recipient of the heifer wrangle grant. My heifer, Pearl, is doing very well and has been improving every single day. I plan to keep giving her constant attention to prepare for the Colorado State Fair. This is my first year showing so it is definitely a new experience for me. I have already learned a lot these past few months and I plan to continue doing so. This grant has been a tremendous help to me in growing my herd and just teaching me more about agriculture as a whole. I am so excited to use this grant to its fullest potential and eventually have a large herd thanks to it. A huge thank you to my sponsor Clayt Cooper at the Bank of Colorado and the Colorado FFA Foundation for this amazing opportunity.

My name is Reilly from the Weldon Valley FFA Chapter. I received the Production Heifer Grant earlier this year and was excited to receive it.

I showed my heifer Holly at the Morgan County Fair at the end of July. She behaved well in the barn as well as behaving well during the show. I look forward to showing her at the Colorado State Fair in August. This will be my first time showing at the Colorado State Fair down in Pueblo.

I have received great support on this project. First, my parents are my strongest support with my Ag teacher, Cara Heid. My uncle and aunt even got involved in my project by donating the semen from one of their superior breeding bulls from their ranch in Wyoming. I was fortunate to take the artificial insemination class in New Raymer this spring. My heifer was the heifer that was bred in class to show and teach the attendees in class. I learned a great deal about the artificial insemination process. Holly was recently preg checked and is pregnant with the due date in February of 2027. I am excited since the expected progeny differences on the bull are what I wanted in this first breeding to my heifer Holly. Currently she weighs 800 lbs and is gaining weight and filling out.

I look forward to interacting with the other FFA members and their heifers at the end of this month! Thank you FFA Foundation and Aspen Elks Lodge for making this grant possible for me!

Hi, my name is Rorie. This will be my second year being an active member of the Sangre de Cristo FFA Chapter. When I received this grant I was just a freshman. I am the SDC FFA Secretary, and am very involved in our chapter. This grant was sponsored by the Thomas Trust Fund, and I am so thankful to be able to share this journey with Mrs. Lesley. When going about choosing my heifer I looked for width from stifle to stifle, bone mass, muscle expression, and most importantly femininity in her looks. That is what led me to choosing my heifer, Lilo. Lilo is from Temple Ranches in Monte Vista, CO. She is out of the sire Here I Am and her dam is unnamed. Lilo and I have made great progress and she has become an amazing heifer to work with. Two weeks ago we competed at the San Luis Valley Fair. This is where Lilo won her division and got 4th place in the Grand Drive. I can't wait to see how her calf looks when she calves in April. I am forever grateful for this opportunity and can't wait to see how Lilo does at the Colorado State Fair.

Hi, Iโ€™m Katy from the Platte Valley FFA chapter. This year I received a grant for showing market whethers. I purchased my animals in March and recently just sold one in the Weld County Fair Sale. I had one named Broken Ear and one named Dwight. At fair, Broken Ear placed fourth overall and Dwight earned me a sixth-place spot in senior showmanship, so overall this year was pretty successful. I will not show at any other shows after this one, so our barn will be empty until we do it all over again next March. Thank you to Hendel Sztajnworc at Chevron for sponsoring and making this possible! I am eternally grateful for the opportunity this has given me.

Hi, my name is Collins, and I am a proud member of the Holly FFA Chapter. This year I was selected to receive the Show Calf Heifer Wrangle Grant, which allowed me to purchase my Simmental heifer Queenie.

I chose Queenie through a lot of research of different breeds and her pedigree. I have never shown cattle before, so bringing Queenie home was a big learning curve. However, during the past year, I have been working hard with my heifer to prepare us for the Colorado State Fair.

In mid April I AIโ€™d Queenie to the Maine Anjou Bull BBR FX May We All 6D. Later in June my mom and I pregnancy checked her and were able to see that she was bred, she should calve late January. During the first week of August, I took Queenie to my county fair. We competed in the breeders class, in which she placed Reserve Champion Breeding Heifer. In addition to participating in the heifer wrangle I show sheep, play volleyball, & compete in shooting sports.

My sponsors, Jason & Amber Herrera and family have been very supportive. We were able to meet again at State Convention and the county fair. Iโ€™d also like to thank Colantonio Cattle Company for being helpful after I bought my heifer. This project has been very rewarding and I am so grateful to have this opportunity to grow my show calf herd.

Hello, my name is Duke, and I'm a sophomore at North Park High School and a member of the North Park FFA Chapter. I was extremely excited when I found out my application had been accepted for the Colorado FFA Heifer Wrangle Grant!

My heifer's name is Bear, and we've been working really hard at getting ready for the FFA Heifer Wrangle show at the state fair. I've been fortunate enough to use Bear to help the younger members in 4-H learn showmanship because of her calm demeanor. We AI'd Bear to TJ Gold on the 1st of July. He is a purebred Simmental bull that is known for producing high-quality offspring and proven to help heifers with a good calving ease.

I'd like to thank my sponsor, Chevron and Ms. Hendel! Your generosity, encouragement and kindness has blessed me through this experience.
I'd also like to thank CASTLE PEAK RANCH for providing me with a high-quality show heifer! I am truly grateful.

Congratulations to our Colorado National proficiency winners!
