Holocaust Memorial Observances of Greeley and Northern Colorado

Holocaust Memorial Observances of Greeley and Northern Colorado We remember the Holocaust.

The Holocaust Memorial Observances Committee of Greeley & Northern Colorado has implemented every year, for over 30 years, Annual Observances principally to educate members of our community about the Holocaust and to motivate confronting racism, bigotry, hatred, and intolerance in our current era. It is the hope of the Greeley Holocaust Memorial Observances Committee that the values these programs

instill across the age spectrum, diverse religious groups, and the general cultural mosaic of our community give members of our community the courage, where it might otherwise be lacking, to counteract hate, bigotry, and prejudice whenever and wherever they encounter it.

81 years ago, Auschwitz was liberated by Soviet troops.

The Germans established the Auschwitz camp complex in the spring of 1940 in German-occupied Poland. In just over four years, about 1.1 million people were killed there—including about one million Jews.

Each year on the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, we remember the victims of the Holocaust and carry forward the messages of its survivors.
