Rain changed the plans, but SouthState Bank came ready to help!

Their team spent the afternoon preparing the inside of a Hope Spring duplex for painting, bringing two homes closer to move-in day for future Habitat homeowners.

Last week, GWHFH CEO Cheri Witt-Brown presented at Habitat for Humanity International’s 2026 Affiliate Conference in Atlanta. More than 3,200 Habitat leaders attended, and Cheri’s session, “Innovation in Housing Finance,” drew more than 300 attendees, the largest of the week. She also co-presented in a second session on Affordability Strategies for Future Generations.

Cheri is considered a subject matter expert in innovative, affordable housing.
People seek her expertise because of the innovations happening right here in Weld County. Through the Hope Springs development, GWHFH has built a proven, scalable model for permanently affordable homeownership. Habitat affiliates nationwide are now emulating it. 🏡

Four team members joined Cheri at the conference for the first time: Laura Jones, Jennifer Gehrman, Emily V. Tilton, and Jonathon Gonzales. Each returned with new ideas, valuable resources, and a stronger network of peers in similar positions from across the nation. Those lessons will expand our work and mission's impact across Weld County. Building homes, communities, and hope for more and more local families is central to our entire staff, every day, in every way.

The Medina Family has the keys! 🏡

Tom and Rebecca Medina are closing on their home today as the 39th Habitat family of the 174 that will call Hope Springs home.

When Tom and Rebecca began their journey with Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity as homeowner partners, they were newly married. After learning they were expecting their first baby, they began planning for their growing family—starting with a place they could truly call their own.

Now, they’re opening the door to that next chapter, just in time to celebrate their baby's arrival!

There are so many family firsts: carrying moving boxes through the front door, decorating the nursery, and starting their own family traditions. Along the way, everyday moments will become treasured memories that make this house their home.

Congratulations, Tom and Rebecca! We’re so happy to celebrate this milestone with you and all that it means for your family's future.

Look what one full day of helping hands can accomplish! 💛

Yesterday, two groups of volunteers, a total of 30 volunteers came out IN FORCE to support the Castillo Family. They installed ZIP sheathing around an entire duplex at Hope Springs. That’s a BIG day of progress for TWO Habitat Homes!

Friends, colleagues, and family joined the Castillos, giving their time and energy to help another families move closer to homes of their own. The Castillo Family story is full circle. They all have helped build with Habitat in Guatemala. Today they built locally, serving their future neighbors. The Castillo's will soon call a volunteer-built house at Hope Springs HOME. They have been paying that kindness forward for years.

Thank you to everyone who showed up and put their hearts into this build. What a wonderful crew and an incredible day!

A day FULL of volunteers and a WHOLE lot of heart!

Two volunteer groups came out in force to support the Castillo Family today, friends & family installed ZIP sheathing around an entire duplex at Hope Springs—helping TWO Habitat Homes take shape! They donated a total of hours as a commitment to the family.

U.S. Bank team brought heart and energy to Hope Springs yesterday! Before the first tool was picked up, the team started their build day with a celebration, presenting an Impact Grant Award to GWHFH. Then they rolled up their sleeves and joined our construction crew on site.

These hardworking volunteers completed exterior wall framing of not one, but two Habitat Homes where families will share meals, celebrate milestones, and make memories for years to come.

Every wall framed helped turn plans & dreams for these homes into the visible reality of attainable homeownership. That’s an incredible accomplishment for one build day, and a lasting contribution to the families who will open the doors to their home!

A home is where you blow out birthday candles, share breakfast before a busy day, and turn holiday traditions into treasured memories.

Some partners give up. Others build alongside you. FNBO does both.

Through volunteer Build Days, longtime support of GWHFH family services, programs, the Construction Pathway Program with District 6, and continued investment in our mission, FNBO has helped create opportunities for families across Weld County. Just last month, their team was on the Hope Springs construction site twice, working side by side with our crew.

Today, we gathered with FNBO at Hope Springs, in front of homes where families are discovering traditions and already making those memories, to celebrate GWHFH being named a 2026 Community Possible grantee. This Impact Grant supports affordable housing, workforce development, and financial literacy, helping more Weld County families build a strong future through homeownership.
