The trouble with our Colorado Gun Collectors club is it ends up costing me money. I have my own areas of interest and then we have a monthly presentation on something totally different and then I become interested in something else! A few months ago we had a talk on WWII and post-war Walther PP and PPK’s. Pretty soon I run across a PP with markings for the Berlin police department and I buy it. I should be done with post war PP’s, right, but no! Last week I see a PP marked for the Baden-Württemberg State in southern Germany, and I couldn’t resist. It is marked with a Luzern (Lucern Switzerland) gun dealers name that is still in business. The crest that has been X’d out has the three lions indicating state ownership. It even has a rack number. It was fun to figure this all out , but it has nothing in common with the Winchesters I started collecting! Is there a Gun Collectors Anonymous by any chance?

We changed things up for our monthly meeting. We had an antique extravaganza-strictly show and tell without a formal meeting or speaker, just getting together to show off some of our collections and see other members collections. It was really fun!

What is the Colorado Gun Collectors Association show? Only the biggest collector arms and militaria show in the Western United States! Each year, 600+ tables of historic arms, armor, militaria, and historical artifacts from around the world come together to fill a giant 54,000 square foot event center, complete with competitive displays, reenactors, historical vehicles, raffles and drawings, and events for the whole family.

The Reagan Library has an exhibit on the 250th Anniversary of this great country that should not be missed. It starts with the Revolution and proceeds through great events in our history up to the present generation. You will see Original John Trumbull paintings of the Revolution and original President Lincoln letters, among other things. If you live in the west, then you should take advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity.
