When Community Food Club asked our Concentric Leaders which cultural foods they’d like to see on its shelves, Amina almost didn’t ask for halal meat. She had been told before that it was too expensive.

This time, Katie Sienkowski, Director of Food Club, listened and called supplier after supplier until halal chicken and ground beef were available for Food Club members.

Last week, we had a room full of people who believe that good food and real dignity should be available to everyone in Kent County. 🌿

Room at the Table brought our community together in a powerful way, and we are so grateful for every person who showed up, raised their hand, and chose to invest in what we're building here.

At the Community Food Club, members grab a cart, walk the aisles, and choose the food their families actually want. No pre-packed boxes. No waiting in line. Just a real shopping experience rooted in dignity and choice.

250 households shop with us every single day, and nearly 60% of what they choose is fresh fruits and vegetables.

That's what happens when you build a system around people, not handouts.
