What if the outdoors truly belonged to everyone?

Best Day Ever follows adaptive mountain bikers Greg Durso and Allie Bianchi as they navigate the daily challenges of disability—and discover joy, connection, independence, and belonging through Vermont’s mountain biking community.

Set against the stunning Green Mountains, the film explores grit, creativity, and what becomes possible when a community comes together to remove barriers. At its heart is the world’s first fully adaptive trail network, built on a simple idea: everyone belongs outside.

There are a few events we look forward to every single year. The ACT auction is very high on that list.

Last week, some of the Next crew headed to the Creating Together WE BELONG Auction, celebrating 40 years of an organization that empowers people with disabilities to learn, grow and celebrate through the arts.

We’ve been lucky enough to attend for years, and it is always such a good night. Great art. Great people. A whole lot of joy. And a pretty incredible reminder of what can happen when creativity is made accessible to everyone.

Happy 40th, ACT. We’re already excited for next year. ✨

Hi! My name is Eva Kimball and I am an intern at ACT this fall! I am a Senior studying Psychology and Studio Art at Hope College with the hope of becoming an Art Therapist. I am from Ann Arbor Michigan where I live on a farm with lots of animals. In my free time I like to crochet, read, and go to hockey games! I am excited for everything I get to do at ACT this fall, but especially assisting in the ukulele and drum classes on Monday nights!

TOGETHER, WE ALL BELONG is Artists Creating Together’s (ACT) 2026 ArtPrize submission in celebration of ACT’s 40th anniversary. This artwork was collaboratively created by student artists, volunteers, and staff in ACT’s Summer “Presenting Art” class. For many student artists, ACT is a place to learn, build connections, and express themselves through art, music, and dance.

Over the course of eleven weeks, artists worked together to create an artwork that reflects ACT’s sense of community and commitment to one another. They learned collaboration, developed confidence as artists, and shared their personal work and stories.

Throughout this project, artists were supported by dedicated volunteers and staff. We used up-cycled promotional materials and reproductions of former students’ artwork, transforming them into silhouettes of people and hands, musical notes, and meaningful letters and numbers. Each artist contributed individually and collaboratively, sometimes continuing work begun by another artist. Together, their individual contributions became one unified artwork—and inspired its name, TOGETHER, WE ALL BELONG.

ACT empowers individuals of all abilities to learn, grow, and build community throughout the greater Grand Rapids area.
