Safe spaces for young people shouldn't be rare. They should be the standard.

Every young person deserves a place to be heard, to grow, and to be met with support instead of judgment.

There's a lot happening with The Delta Project. Updates, milestones, behind-the-scenes progress. You'll get all of that in our newsletter.

The best part, however, is the stories. Real accounts from everyday people whose lives intersect with this work, the kind of stories that don't always make it into a headline but stick with you long after you read them.

If you want the updates AND the stories that make them matter, sign up for The Delta Project newsletter. Link in bio.

You did the time. You did the work. Then you are sent right back to the same environment that got you caught up in the first place.

That's not rehabilitation. That's a setup.

Real re-entry isn't just opening a door and pushing someone through it. It's making sure the environment on the other side has actually changed, too. New mentors. New options. New people in your corner who see who you're becoming, not just who you were.

At The Delta Project, we meet young people right at that gap, the moment between "released" and actually free, and we stay in it with them.

Re-entry isn't a clean slate, it's a minefield.

On this episode of What I Know Now, we talk about how much what can really happen with re-entry. Someone can lose their housing, custody, relationships, and so little of it is actually in their control.

It's not just a moment. It's a lengthy process. It takes people, not just paperwork.

Listen with us.

Young people need more than programs. They need people.

The people they need are parents, caregivers, mentors, and community members who are willing to show up. The people that can listen and walk alongside them.

The more individuals we bring into the conversation, the stronger the support becomes.

09/24/2026

When we talk about helping young people succeed, resources have to be part of the conversation.

Access to mentorship, education, workforce opportunities, supportive relationships, and other essential resources can create pathways that may not otherwise exist.

For young people with lived experience, those resources can be especially meaningful. Supporting growth means looking beyond the individual and asking whether the systems and communities around them are providing the tools they need to move forward.
