Celebrating a year of impact.

GHACF's Youth Advisory Council (YAC) wrapped up the year with a day full of purpose and fun. They started with an inspiring tour of the Tri-Cities YMCA, a project they proudly supported through their Capital Campaign donation, and ended with a little friendly competition on the kickball field.

We honored our seniors and celebrated every YAC member for their passion, leadership, and commitment to making our community a better place. The future is bright because of you! ✨👏

Great conversations and community connections this afternoon at Spring Lake Rotary Club

Our VP of Advancement and Donor Services, Chris Riker, shared updates on the work of the Grand Haven Area Community Foundation and opportunities for community members to engage in local philanthropy.

Last night, our Board of Trustees gathered for their quarterly meeting, followed by a wonderful evening on the deck with the entire GHACF team.

While much of our work happens behind the scenes, moments like these remind us of the importance of coming together. We are grateful for the opportunity to connect, share conversations, enjoy a beautiful West Michigan evening, and strengthen the relationships that help move our mission forward.

Thank you to our Board members for your leadership, partnership, and dedication. We are grateful to be doing this work alongside you.

For Good. For All. Forever.

Last week, we were pleased to co-host a special tour of the Tri-Cities Family YMCA for our donor-advised fund holders, offering an inside look at the exciting renovation progress and the vision for the transformed facility.

We are grateful for our long-standing partnership with the YMCA and especially thankful for the many fund holders who have already supported this transformational project through their charitable giving. Your generosity is helping create a stronger, healthier community for generations to come.

The YMCA's matching funds campaign continues through the end of June, making now an especially impactful time to give. To make a gift, visit: https://ghacf.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/create/fund?funit_id=3871

Yesterday, the Grand Haven Area Community Foundation team joined The Chamber - Grand Haven, Spring Lake, Ferrysburg for Community Impact Day, an annual day of service supporting nonprofits and community organizations across Ottawa County.

Our team was stationed at Eastmanville Farm, where we helped transplant native plant seedlings that will eventually be used in restoration projects throughout Ottawa County parks. These plants began as seeds collected by volunteers across the county and will help improve biodiversity and habitat for years to come.

We were grateful for the opportunity to support a project that strengthens communities across Ottawa County while also investing time in a park located within the Coopersville community, home to one of our affiliate foundations.

Our 40th Annual Excellence in Education celebration was one to remember.

Last night, we had the privilege of honoring outstanding students from across Northwest Ottawa County, along with the educators who made a lasting impact on their journey.

Each student recognized also nominated an educator who helped shape their path. Together, they represent the dedication, encouragement, and relationships that make achievement possible.

This year marked 40 years of Excellence in Education. We were especially honored to recognize Dottie Johnson, who brought this program to our community after discovering the idea in 1986 and has remained a dedicated advocate for education ever since.

We also welcomed back individuals connected to that very first year, including Mary Jane Evink and Ken Formsma, who were recognized in 1987 and have continued to impact students for decades. In her remarks, Mary Jane brought the evening full circle, encouraging graduates as they step into what’s next to continue investing in others. Because when we invest in people, communities thrive.

To our students, educators, and families. Congratulations, and thank you for being part of a tradition that continues to shape the future of our community.
