If you’re starting a home project, these are five items we always recommend looking for at a salvage shop first:

✨ Light fixtures
🚪 Solid wood doors
🔑 Vintage hardware
🔥 Mantels
🪟 Old windows
You’ll often find higher-quality craftsmanship, and add one-of-a-kind character to your home. The Salvage Shop has a great selection of many of these right now! Looking for something specific? Make an appointment to shop The Salvage Shop!

🗣DON'T MISS OUT - RSVP BY MONDAY!

Join Preservation Alamance on Saturday, June 27, for a look inside one of Graham’s most significant historical landmarks. Whether you missed this stop on our 2025 Annual Tour of Historic Homes or want a deeper dive into local African American history, this is an afternoon you won’t want to miss.

Event Details
📆 Saturday, June 27 | 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM
📍334 E Harden St, Graham, NC
📩 RSVP required as space is limited. Please register by submitting the form on presalamance.org/current-events by this Monday, June 22.

This tour offers a unique opportunity to explore the 1911 sanctuary, the 1876 original chapel, the grounds, and the historic cemetery.

In 1875, Rev. J.W. Wellons organized the Children’s Chapel Christian Church as a place of worship for local formerly enslaved people. As we celebrate the congregation’s 150th anniversary (1875–2025), we also celebrate its future: the church was officially designated as an historic landmark in March 2026.

They say it takes a village—and preservation is no different.

Every tour, educational program, advocacy effort, and salvage project we take on is made possible by the businesses and organizations that choose to invest in preserving Alamance County's historic character.

To our 2026 Community Sponsors: thank you for believing that the places we save today will continue telling their stories for generations to come.

We're honored to have you as partners in this work. 💙
