Join Preservation Alamance on November 1 for the 7th Annual Tour of Historic Homes and explore places that have shaped Gibsonville and the surrounding community, from historic homes and gathering places to sacred grounds and preservation projects still unfolding.

Expect beautiful architecture, local stories, and a few places you may have passed a hundred times without ever knowing what was behind the doors.

Help Make the 2026 Tour of Historic Homes Happen!

We’re looking for volunteers to join us for this year’s Tour of Historic Homes in Gibsonville on November 1.

HOUSE DOCENTS
Help welcome guests, keep things moving through the homes, and share a little about the history of each property and the town of Gibsonville.

No preservation experience needed. We’ll give you everything you need to know before the tour.

PARKING ASSISTANTS
Help direct arriving vehicles, keep traffic moving, and point guests toward the tour entrance.

Volunteers receive free tour admission + a complimentary lunch, with morning, afternoon, and full-day shifts available.

Come spend a few hours with us, meet your neighbors, and help make the day a great experience for everyone.

On November 1, make a whole day of it. Tour some of Gibsonville’s beautiful historic homes and landmarks, then wander downtown. You can pop into the antique shops, browse local businesses, grab lunch or a coffee, and spend a little time getting to know Gibsonville.

The Historic Home Tour is a great excuse to explore a town with plenty of history and charm beyond the homes on the tour.

On November 1, Preservation Alamance is opening the doors for the Historic Home Tour, giving you a chance to see the history up close.

We’re excited to have the Berry Davidson House in Gibsonville featured on this year’s Historic Home Tour!

Built in 1887 by Berry Davidson, a prominent millwright, mill owner, and former mayor of Gibsonville, the home is deeply connected to the story of how Gibsonville grew from a small railroad community into a thriving mill town. Davidson built both the Minneola and Hiawatha cotton mills and served as mayor from 1907–1911.

Now, Faith Grant is giving us a little sneak peek inside this beautiful historic home, sharing some of the details and stories that make it such a special part of Gibsonville’s history.
