Our caring team will listen to your questions and concerns, discuss aging care options and solutions with you, and direct you and your family to the right resources. We also provide education and counseling support for caregivers through monthly educational workshops and a caregiver support group.

Today, Alamance ElderCare hosted a group for the Alzheimer's Association walk to fundraise and raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease! 💜

Each flower that was carried had its own meaning and represented why someone chose to carry that flower:

💜 Purple: Held in honor and memory of a loved one who was lost to the disease.

💛 Yellow: Carried by those who are currently supporting or caring for someone living with dementia.

🩵 Blue: Carried by individuals who are currently living with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia.

🧡 Orange: Representing supporters who champion the cause of a world without Alzheimer’s, even without a personal connection to the disease.

🤍 White: Held to represent the first survivors of Alzheimer’s.

If any of these colors relate to you, leave your color in the comments to show your support for the Alzheimer’s Association and everyone who is affected by this disease! 💜

Alamance ElderCare's Family Caregiver Support & Outreach Manager, Carol Hernandez, had the opportunity to attend the 2026 Fall Prevention Expo hosted by PTRC Piedmont Triad Regional Council Area Agency on Aging

Carol gained valuable information about the importance of balance, fall prevention, and safe ways to recover from a fall. Events like this provide an opportunity to learn new strategies and resources that can be shared with the older adults and caregivers we serve in our community.

We are grateful to PTRC for hosting this great event and for bringing together communities and professionals who are committed to helping older adults stay safe, active, and independent in their communities.
