Windows in. Doors on. The Ihrig family home is officially enclosed!

For Hannah and her daughters, Nevaeh and Lexi, those new windows and doors represent something much bigger: a safe, stable place to call their own.

After years of rising rent and ongoing issues with their rental, Hannah has worked hard toward a different future for her family.

Now, that future has four walls, windows, and a front door—and they’re getting closer to home every day.

We are on site with Trine University today! It’s a beautiful day to build and we are having a blast! Thank you Trine for your partnership. Once a month students from the university donate a Saturday of their time. We simply couldn’t do what we do without groups like these! 💪🏽🏠

What a meaningful day celebrating the newest Habitat for Humanity of Elkhart County development, Legacy Park! This aerial view shows the growth underway and the homes, community, and hope being built right here in Elkhart County.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the ribbon-cutting and helped make this milestone possible. A special thank-you to Mayor Rod Roberson, U.S. Representative Rudy Yakym, Taryn MacFarlane, and John Place for sharing remarks and highlighting the importance of affordable homeownership and the partnerships making this investment possible.

We’re grateful for the collaboration and support of Abonmarche, South Bend - Elkhart Regional Partnership (READI), MorRyde, City of Elkhart, Indiana, Selge Construction, and Niblock. Your partnership helps turn the vision of affordable homeownership into reality for local families.

As we celebrate 40 years of building homes, community, and hope, Legacy Park represents what’s possible when a community comes together around a shared purpose.
