In 1997, God called a Landscape Architect and a Home Economics teacher to embark on the faith adventure of their lifetime and move to Zimbabwe, Africa to love orphaned children in Jesus' name. Eden Children's Village is the result of God's work to establish the heart cry and amen of Kevin and Susan Fry's hearts as they said, "yes" to God and abandoned their former lives, pouring them out for the children so critically effected by the HIV/Aids crisis in Zimbabwe. Eden has grown immensely over the past 23 years and there is a lot more you need to know about the ministry. What if you could help give a child a place to call home? 🧡

In Zimbabwe, many vulnerable children face difficult circumstances without the stability, care, and support every child needs to thrive.

At Eden Ministries, we're working to change that.

We're a Christian ministry providing loving, family-style homes, education, healthcare, and a caring community for children who need them most.

We've seen what a difference a safe home and consistent love can make in a child's life. And we believe there are many more children we can reach.

Our next big step is to build 12 new children's homes.

These homes will allow us to welcome more children into a safe, nurturing environment where they can experience the love of Christ through the everyday care of a family.

But we can't do it alone.

On Saturday, November 7, at 6 PM, we're hosting our Hope Rising Gala at THE ARK in Converse, Indiana.

It's an opportunity to hear the stories of children and families whose lives have been impacted, learn more about Eden's work, and discover how you can help make these 12 new homes a reality.

We believe caring for vulnerable children is a responsibility we share as followers of Christ. And together, we have an opportunity to do something meaningful about it.

This week, as we marked World Teachers’ Day, we took time to celebrate our wonderful teachers.

Some have served with us for 20 years, others for 15, 10, or 5 years. We thank God for each one of them, for their faithfulness, dedication, and the ministry entrusted to them.

Their work goes beyond the classroom. They are helping to raise, nurture, and educate children, shaping lives and laying foundations for the future.

We are grateful for each of them and the difference they continue to make, one child at a time.

This past week, our children had a special day out in Chinhoyi!

We started at Pizza Inn, where they learned how pizza is made and then got to make their very own pizzas. 🍕

From there, we visited the Chinhoyi Caves, learning about their history and taking in the incredible beauty of God’s creation.

At Eden, experiences like these are about more than a day out. They give our children opportunities to learn, explore, build confidence and experience the fullness of childhood.

Tuesday evenings at Eden. ❤️

Each week, our small group gathers to seek Jesus and grow in community. Sometimes it’s Bible study, sometimes worship and prayer, and sometimes simply sharing life and enjoying fellowship together.

We’re grateful for a community where we can grow in Christ and love one another well.

Across our 3-hectare, drip-irrigated garden, our team continues to grow fresh produce that helps provide nutritious meals for the children in our care.

Here’s some of what we harvested in September:

🥔 Potatoes: 890.55 kg
🍅 Tomatoes: 154.95 kg
🥕 Carrots: 109.25 kg
🧅 Onions: 97.35 kg
🫛 Green beans: 33.75 kg
🥬 Cabbage: 83 heads
🥦 Cauliflower: 85 heads
🌿 Spinach: 56 bundles
🥗 Lettuce: 46 heads
🫑 Green peppers: 545
🍆 Eggplant: 61

The health of our children today has a bearing on their health and wellbeing in the future. That means paying attention to every part of their care, including how their food is grown, handled, prepared and served.

With this in mind, the Eden Quality Control Department recently held food safety and handling training under the theme Building an Eden Food Safety Culture.

Amos 3:3, “Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?” was shared as the workshop opened—a reminder of the importance of working together around common standards.

At Eden, the food journey stretches from the farm to the table and involves several departments along the way.

Today, we are thanking God for His protection.

A serious bush fire broke out around Eden today, threatening the Village and our property. Our team responded quickly and worked hard to bring the situation under control and secure the premises. We are deeply grateful that the Village, our children, staff and property were preserved.

At the same time, we are saddened by the damage to the surrounding bush and the disruption to the wildlife and natural habitat that call it home. We believe we are called to be good stewards of what God has entrusted to us, and caring for and protecting our environment is part of that responsibility.

We are grateful for every member of our team who stepped forward today, and above all, we thank God for His protection over Eden.

Today could have been very different. We are grateful it wasn’t.
