Thanks to Hardin Package Liquor, Schwegels grocery, Sinclair grocery, and Bethalto Ace Hardware for partnering with us and helping to support our communities.

Well, another one in the books. Flags are all picked up and put away. Thanks for everybody that helped from LOCAL 218 and Local 338. You all made it easy work. Next flags will be Veterans Day.

Thank you Laborers’ Local 218 and 338 volunteer organizing committees for once again placing flags at Upper Alton Cemetery in honor of those who served and sacrificed for our country.

This Memorial Day, we remember the fallen and the freedoms their sacrifice secured.

Thank you to everybody who was able to help put up flags this morning. It went well and a special thanks to Laborers Local 338 for joining in and helping. We will meet back at upper Alton cemetery at 6 PM for anybody who was not able to come this morning. You’re welcome to come help this evening.

0% chance of rain tomorrow for Memorial Day Monday, May 25 so flags are a go. As always, we will meet at Alton VFW at 6 AM, load the flags onto trailers, and take them to upper ALTON cemetery. We will meet at 6 PM to take the flags down and return them to the VFW.  we have not had a second trailer volunteered yet so if somebody wants to bring one that would be great. Feel free to bring friends and family as anybody is allowed to help. Looking forward to seeing everybody tomorrow.

As of now, flags are still on for Monday Memorial Day. There is a slight chance of rain so we will put a final update on this page Sunday. The plan is still to meet at Alton VFW at 6 AM to put flags out and back at the cemetery at 6 PM to pick them up. We are still looking for a second trailer. We can do it with one if needed.

We are in the middle of our annual pet care drive for the VOC. Anyone who could bring a bag of pet food or a pet care item to the hall would be greatly appreciated. We are collecting through the next union meeting. We are Supporting the 5A's in Alton and The Riverbend Humaine Society in Jerseyville.
