Pride Beautification

Pride Beautification "Dedicated to community beautification" Pride Inc., is about more than planting trees.

Great neighborhoods don’t happen by accident. They’re built one cared-for home, blooming flower bed, and freshly trimmed yard at a time.

Know a home that deserves the spotlight? Nominate them — or yourself — for Pride Home of the Month!

CELEBRATING A CENTURY OF COOL
Downtown Alton came alive Friday evening as the community gathered to celebrate the 100th Birthday Celebration of legendary jazz icon Miles Davis. 🎺
The evening welcomed special guests including Karen Wilson, President of Pride Beautification, Mayor David Goins, historian and MC Pete Basola, and the artist Michael Snider, creator of The Thousand Trumpets. Dr. Samuels, who delivered Miles Davis, was portrayed by Vintage Voices actor, Jared Hennings.
Preston Jackson, the prolific artist and sculptor of Alton’s Iconic Miles Davis statue and his assistant Joy Kessler were also in attendance.
Guests enjoyed an unforgettable evening of live jazz performed by the Jim Manley Group as Alton honored one of its most celebrated musical legends.

A big shout-out to Pride Beautification and Sisk Lawn Care and Landscaping for the outstanding job they did upgrading the appearance of this fountain area on Washington Ave, better known as the original home of the Templin Mansion. Thank you to Alton Community Service League for their grant program which funded half of this project. This project was completed beautifully, just in time for Monday’s Alton Memorial Day Parade! Just one more collaboration to beautify our community, one project at a time. Find the full story at prideincorporated.org

Our newest “Did You Know?” blog shares the history of the Templin Mansion, Roger Templin’s unique connection to the property, and the fountain that still honors his legacy today.
