Kiwanis is a global organization of member-volunteers who are committed to changing the world, one community and one child at a time. The Kiwanis Club of Glens Falls was founded almost 100 years ago in 1925 by community-minded citizens from the greater Glens Falls region. Today, our membership is nearly 70 men and women who have a

desire to make this community a better place to live, work and build a life. You’ll find us investing our time and talents supporting the community by assembling tents for senior centers, assisting at food drives, reading to children at Head Start, bowling for Big Brothers/Big Sisters, ringing bells for Salvation Army and much, much more. You may also know us from our high-visibility fundraisers both past and present. We host the Annual Rubber Duck Race and Family Fun Day, our Putt Above Golf Tournament and for over 25 years, the Taste of the North Country Festival in City Park. Today, one of our signature events is the Spirits in the Trees holiday celebration in Crandall Park in December. These community service projects and fundraisers are both fun and rewarding for members volunteering their time and talents to create and execute. Volunteering with Kiwanis generates camaraderie amongst members and creates life-long friendships, in addition to knowing you’re making a significant difference in the lives of children and individuals in our greater community. Our Kiwanis Club is also responsible for developing our future leaders through our high school leadership development program, Key Club, an international Kiwanis initiative which is the world’s largest and oldest service organization for High Schools. We support 10 Key Clubs in schools from Warrensburg to Fort Edward. Our Kiwanis Foundation, the charitable arm of our Kiwanis Club, has provided over $350,000 to graduating Key Club students for their continuing education. We also support an Aktion
Club for people with disabilities and a Builder’s Club for middle school students in Glens Falls. We would very much welcome you to become part of this wonderful organization through membership. The SAEC Key Clubs Culinary Arts Team will be sending 5 students to the SkillsUSA National Conference in Atlanta, Georgia from Monday June 1 to Saturday June 6! 2 students will be representing NYS for The Chapters of Excellence Award. Only 24 schools in the nation are chosen for this award. On behalf of the Kiwanis Club of Glens Falls, President Mike Bushman is happy to contribute $1,000 to this venture and wish Chef Matt Young and his students much success!

Why did the Kiwanis member dress like a chicken?

Because after helping serve 1,150 chicken dinners… somebody was bound to crack!

(ok…maybe you need to make up your own punchline. Leave it in the comments - NOTHING FOWL!!)

And before anyone gets their feathers ruffled… yes… we know this joke is a little half-baked. But at the Kiwanis Chicken BBQ, we’re always willing to “WING” it for a good cause.

No fowl moods here.

Just a bunch of good eggs trying to hatch ways to help the community.

Some people crossed the road…
YOU crossed the parking lot for chicken dinners, laughter, and community spirit — and we’re clucking grateful for every single one of you.

Thanks for helping us set a RECORD turnout at the Kiwanis Chicken BBQ!

Because of your support, we can keep bringing home the bacon… even if technically it was chicken.

THANK YOU! Thank you for helping us serve Glens Falls.

DID YOU KNOW that Kiwanis Club members pay the administrative costs of the club so that 100% of the money we raise goes right back into the community??

That means that 100% of the profits from this Chicken BBQ helps kids go to Kiwanis Kamp, helps support Not for Profits in an around Falls, and serves kids and their families by supporting organizations like Warren County HEAD START to accomplish their mission.

Selling a record number of dinners is a fun achievement. We had fun planning and preparing and selling tickets. We had a blast serving! And, we certainly hope you enjoyed the amazing meal! But in the end, what really matters, it that YOU helped US help our COMMUNITY! Thank you.

It is with deep sadness that the Kiwanis Club of Glens Falls recognizes the passing of Pierrette Baldwin, co-founder of the beloved Chez Pierre Restaurant in Gansevoort, NY.

Together with her husband, Joe, Pierrette built more than a restaurant—they created a gathering place defined by warmth, tradition, and genuine hospitality. Her lifelong connection to the culinary world and her natural gift for making others feel welcome shaped an experience that kept generations of guests returning again and again.

For over 60 years, Chez Pierre has been a cornerstone of our community—offering exceptional French cuisine, lasting memories, and a tradition of excellence carried on today by their daughter Pia and her husband Lincoln.

Pierrette’s legacy is not only found in the restaurant she helped build, but in the relationships she nurtured and the community she enriched. Chez Pierre has been a tremendous partner to our Kiwanis Club, and we are deeply grateful for the Baldwin family’s continued support and generosity.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Pia, Lincoln, and the entire Baldwin family. Pierrette will be remembered fondly and missed greatly.
