It’s World Food Day! 🫛

When we picture hunger, we don’t always picture our own neighborhood. But right here in Williamson County, about 1 in 7 neighbors has limited or uncertain access to food. That’s nearly 98,000 people, almost as many as live in all of Georgetown.

Month after month, The Caring Place is distributing more food to more families in Georgetown and northern Williamson County. This Hunger Free Holidays, we’re working to provide 500,000 meals to neighbors in need, and we can’t do it without you.

With our purchasing power, every $1 you give provides 5 meals.

🌟 Community Champion Spotlight: Don & Grace Boyce 🌟

The Jarrell Chamber of Commerce is proud to recognize Don and Grace Boyce as our Community Champions! ❤️

For well over 10 years each, Don and Grace have generously volunteered countless hours serving and helping make a difference in the lives of others. These days you can find them in the Boutique area of the Caring Place.

Don came to Texas in 1960 while serving in the Army, and together, he and Grace have called Sun City home for the past 18 years. With four children between the two of them, they understand the importance of family, community, and lending a helping hand whenever possible.

When asked about giving back, their outlook is simple but powerful: they feel blessed to have the opportunity to serve others, and they believe it’s our job to help make things better. Their message to others is just as meaningful: “If you see a need, do something about it. Go help someone.” ❤️

Don and Grace, thank you for your years of dedication, your servant hearts, and the countless hours you’ve given to help others. This world is better because of people like you two!

Due to staff availability, neighbors seeking financial crisis assistance should arrive no later than 2 PM to be seen the same day from Monday, October 5th through Monday, October 12th.

The Caring Place will be open for regular hours, including Programs & Services.

In 2026, The Caring Place has distributed more food to more families than ever before, and the holiday season will be no exception. In August, we gave out a record-breaking 140,753 pounds of food to 1,700 families. For the first time, the Food Pantry served more than 5,000 unique individuals in just one month. To help keep our Food Pantry stocked, we are calling on our amazing community to help us provide 500,000 meals to neighbors in need during Hunger Free Holidays. From October 1st through December 31st, The Caring Place will collect both monetary and food donations to reach our goal.

With cost of living and the price of groceries on the rise, food is the best way The Caring Place can help individuals and families in our community avoid financial crisis. When you support the Food Pantry, your neighbors can shop for the food their families need, and just one monthly visit to the Food Pantry can save a family as much as $556 on grocery bills. With these savings, neighbors have the financial flexibility to put those funds towards other critical expenses.
