September is Hunger Action Month, and this year, that call to action feels especially close to home. In July, The Caring Place served 5,350 unique neighbors, the most we’ve ever served in a single month. In 2026, we’ve already assisted 10,362 unique individuals, 12% more than this time last year. Behind those numbers are real neighbors stretching their monthly income to meet the rising cost of basic needs.

As we recognize Hunger Action Month, we’ll be sharing stories and statistics about what hunger really looks like in our community, and the programs taking action to address it. Stay tuned!

*Food distribution will begin as soon as we unload the produce received from Central Texas Food Bank and is estimated to begin by 8:00 AM, but may begin earlier or later, depending on when the delivery truck arrives. Distribution will end at 9:00 AM.

We're back! 🎉

A BIG thank you to our team and everyone who helped get our store ready to reopen! We'll be open during regular hours from 10 AM to 4 PM on Thursday, August 27th, and we can't wait to see you there!

🚨 Second Helping Closed Today, Wednesday, August 26th

Due to an unforeseen facility issue, our thrift store, Second Helping, is without water and is closed today. We are working diligently to resolve the issue and anticipate that the store, located at 3700 Williams Drive, will reopen tomorrow, Thursday, August 27th, but please keep an eye on our social media for updates. Our main campus on Railroad Avenue is not impacted and is open today.
