CASA of Williamson County, TX

CASA of Williamson County, TX Our vision is that all children in Williamson County, Texas, will have a safe, permanent home.

Our Mission

CASA of Williamson County, TX exists to empower community volunteers to advocate for children who have experienced abuse or neglect to find loving, safe, and permanent homes. Our Vision

Our vision is that all children in Williamson County, Texas, will have a safe, permanent home. CASA of Williamson County believes every child who’s been abused or neglected deserves to have a dedicate

d advocate speaking up for their best interest in court, at school and in our community. To accomplish this, CASA educates and empowers diverse community volunteers who ensure each child’s needs remain a priority in an over-burdened child welfare system. When the state steps in to protect a child’s safety because the people responsible for protecting them have not, a judge appoints a trained CASA volunteer to make independent and informed recommendations and help the judge decide what’s best for the child. CASA is the only child advocacy group working in the court system that provides a caring, consistent adult focused on the well-being of a single child. For children who’ve been abused or neglected, CASA means having a home instead of feeling lost, and being a priority instead of feeling invisible. For volunteers, CASA is a life-changing experience that makes our community a better place. CASA volunteers come from every walk of life and share a commitment to improving children’s lives, a willingness to learn, and an open mind towards life experiences different from their own. Volunteers complete an interview, background checks, and 33 hours of intensive training. After being sworn-in by a judge, volunteers are appointed to a child or family of children and spend an average of 20 hours a month advocating for these children for at least a year. They get to know the child while also gathering information from the child’s family, teachers, doctors, caregivers, and anyone else involved in the child’s life. Judges highly value CASA’s recommendations which help them make informed decisions in the child’s best interest. CASA of Williamson County was created in 2009 by concerned community members and judges – following the creation of the national CASA model by a Seattle family court judge in 1977. June is National Reunification Month! Please join us in taking a moment to recognize the strength, resilience, and commitment of families working toward reunification.

When safe and possible, reunification helps children maintain important family connections, cultural identity, and community support systems.

Throughout the process, CASA volunteers work alongside families, caregivers, case professionals, and service providers to help ensure children’s needs and well-being remain at the center of every conversation.

May is National Foster Care Awareness Month, so we wanted to take a minute to recognize and honor the children, families, foster parents, kinship caregivers, and professionals connected to the child welfare system.

Foster families and caregivers play an important role in providing stability, care, and support for children navigating difficult circumstances. Their willingness to open their homes and hearts can make a meaningful difference in a child’s life.

Thank you to all the foster families we work with for continuing to make a difference in the lives of kids!

It was so much fun hosting Business After Hours last week with the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce. We took the opportunity to dedicate our new front entryway, the Sport Clips Welcome Zone, which will provide a welcoming space for volunteers and visitors to our office.

Thank you so much to Sport Clips Haircuts and the Logan Family for their ongoing support!
