🥹 FROM A SKINNY, SAD LITTLE BOY TO THIS HAPPY, HANDSOME FACE! 🐾

Can we talk about Diego for a minute?!

Because these pictures tell a story that deserves to be shared. ❤️

There was a time when Diego was just a skinny little boy who looked like life hadn’t been very kind to him.

Look at those earlier pictures. His little body, those big eyes, and that face that just makes you want to scoop him up and tell him everything is going to be okay.

NOW LOOK AT HIM! 😍

He’s filling out, getting loved on, enjoying life in a foster home, and showing off that ridiculously adorable little underbite!

And that picture of him getting hugs from a child? THAT is what rescue is all about.

Diego isn’t just surviving anymore. He’s getting the chance to enjoy being a dog.

And we’ve learned some pretty wonderful things about him along the way!

🐾 Good with kids!

🐾 Good with other dogs!

🐾 Even does well with chickens!

🐾 Working on his housebreaking!

🐾 Has a smile that could make absolutely anyone’s day!

His foster family has helped him come so far, but there’s still one thing missing from his story.

HIS FOREVER FAMILY. 🏡

We don’t want Diego’s transformation to end with a happy foster update. We want it to end with an adoption announcement!

Somewhere out there is a family who is going to look at this little guy and wonder how they ever lived without him.

Diego went from a skinny, sad boy to a happy little guy with a whole lot of love to give. Now he just needs someone to give it to forever. ❤️

🚨 URGENT: $250 NEEDED TODAY TO GET ROCKY FIXED! 🚨

Rocky is scheduled for surgery TOMORROW MORNING, and we need our communities help to make this possible. We’re raising $250 to cover his neuter and vaccinations.

His owner, Melvin, has been an absolute lifeline to Mama and her puppies. Mama has been surviving on the streets for what we think has been two long years. When the tornado hit, we thought she might be pregnant. Since her litter arrived, Melvin has fed and watched over this little family day in and day out, even though they’re too terrified to let anyone get close.

Because Melvin has stayed by their side, we safely trapped one puppy and got her straight into a foster home, where she could receive the medical care she needed. We’re still working to trap Mama and her remaining puppy, while Melvin keeps watch over them every day.

Rocky has been a great dad, but we suspect he’s been the baby daddy to more than one litter on the streets. It’s time for him to retire from baby-daddy duty! Melvin has agreed to get Rocky neutered. This is where the cycle stops, helping prevent more unwanted puppies and giving Rocky a healthier future.

His surgery is booked for tomorrow morning, but we can’t do it without you. We need to raise $250 TODAY.

🚨 DASH INTAKE IS CLOSED

This is a decision we never wanted to make, but we cannot continue rescuing dogs when we are struggling to cover the expenses of those already in our care.

Between veterinary bills, spays and neuters, medications, and everyday supplies, our expenses continue to grow.

We know the dogs at Gary Animal Control still need us, and it breaks our hearts to have to say no.

But we have a responsibility to the dogs we’ve already saved.

Hi everyone, this is Bobby, and he needs us right now. 💙🐾

Bobby is 3 years old, and when we say he’s the "perfect pitty," we mean it with all our hearts. He has survived neglect that no animal should ever endure, went through a tail amputation, and has spent the last 4 months holding out hope in a foster home.

Through all of it, Bobby remains funny, affectionate, and so deeply sweet. He loves kids, adores dog friends, walks like a gentleman on a leash, and is both house-trained and crate-trained. He even respects the chickens in his foster home!
We recently tried to place him back with his old girlfriend Koko, but the household had a cat and it wasn't the right match. With a patient, slow introduction, Bobby is smart enough and gentle enough to learn.

To make sure nothing stands in the way of his happy ending, a past adopter has fully sponsored Bobby’s adoption fee.

Bobby has done his part- he’s healed, he’s learned, and he’s ready. Now he just needs someone to open their heart and home to him.

Bear was a repeat offender at Gary Animal Control. His former owner kept letting him roam, and when he ended up back at there one last time, they decided to never come back for him.

He found a great home. Bear was adopted directly through us by a retired Gary police officer.

DASH waives adoption fees for service members and first responders as a thank-you for serving our community. We’re grateful Bear got this chance. Now we need help covering the $200 cost of his neuter surgery.

Look at him now, belly up, completely relaxed, and right where he belongs on the couch. His surgery is scheduled for this Thursday, and we need our community to help us hit this $200 goal before then.
