FOSTERS OR ADOPTERS NEEDED NOW. THEY ARE RUNNING OUT OF TIME.

These two sweet girls are still waiting at Gary Animal Control, and we need someone to step up for them now.

Both are female and dog friendly, and both need somewhere to go. Animal Control is full, and the reality is that we cannot keep asking for more time when we do not have foster or adoptive homes available.

You can foster. You can adopt. Foster-to-adopt is also an option. If you think one of these girls could be right for your family but aren’t ready to commit to adoption immediately, you can bring her home first and make sure she is the right fit.

We can advocate for these dogs, share them, and fight to give them more time, but ultimately we need homes to get them out of the kennel.

Please do not assume someone else will step up. They need someone now.

UPDATE ON MAMA AND HER PUPPIES

We are heartbroken to share that Mama lost another puppy overnight.

She now has five puppies. Three are gaining weight and doing very well. The other two are smaller and need some extra help because they have trouble staying latched. Her fosters are watching them closely, helping them nurse, and supplementing their feedings when needed.

We are incredibly grateful for Mama’s fosters. They have been caring for this entire family around the clock, monitoring every puppy closely and doing everything they can to help them grow. Losing a puppy is heartbreaking, especially after putting so much time, care, and love into them.

Please keep Mama, her five puppies, and their fosters in your thoughts. We are all hoping to see these babies continue getting stronger.

Look at that huge, handsome smile! 🐾

Dayton is 2 years old and ready to find a family of his own.

🐾 Incredibly smart, active, affectionate, and full of personality
🐾 Good with other dogs
🐾 Good with cats
🐾 Good with children
🐾 House trained and crate trained

Dayton truly would make a wonderful addition to almost any family.

This sweet, deserving boy has spent far too much of his life bouncing from one home to another. He recently came back to us through absolutely no fault of his own after his family had to move and could not find housing that would allow him.

Dayton deserves more than another temporary place to stay. He deserves a family who will make him a permanent part of their lives.

🐾🚤 HAPPY TAILS UPDATE: LILY IS LIVING HER ABSOLUTE BEST LIFE! 🚤🐾

Lily was originally brought in after being found on the streets, but everything changed the moment she entered foster care. Her foster dad fell in love instantly, knew right away he couldn’t live without her, and made it official, the ultimate "foster fail!"

He has kept in close touch with us since adoption day, sending us updates on all her adventures. She is so deeply cared for and living the absolute best life imaginable.

Moments like this are why we do what we do. Happy life, Lily! ❤️✨

Today, we had the pleasure of making one final delivery to Miss Tina and her sweet senior yorkie Cash.

Miss Tina was so grateful and even insisted on donating what little cash she had because she believes in the work we do. Her kindness meant more to us than she probably realizes.

Since the storm, we have been delivering pet food to families throughout the city. Many families were without power for over two weeks, with some only getting it back last night. Many did not have transportation to get to the store, while others had vehicles damaged or destroyed by the storm.

We used the extra food we had available, and Feline Community Network Resource Center & Cat-themed Gift Shop generously filled our car twice with additional food so we could reach even more families.

Our food deliveries have now ended, and our focus is returning to the work we do every day behind the scenes with Gary Animal Control, advocating for the dogs in their care and helping them find foster and adoptive homes.

Throughout these deliveries, we had the pleasure of meeting so many kind and grateful people and getting to know the community even better. We heard their stories, met their pets, and were reminded just how much people care about their animals. We are grateful that we were able to be there for them during such a difficult time.

Thank you to everyone who made this possible, donated, and everyone who welcomed us into their homes and allowed us to be part of their lives over the past few weeks.

🚨 URGENT: ANIMAL CONTROL IS AT CAPACITY & THESE DOGS ARE RUNNING OUT OF TIME 🚨

Look at these sweet faces. They are sitting in kennels every single day, watching people walk past, hoping and waiting to see who is going to choose them.

Right now, animal control is completely full. Since our last post, we haven't received a single foster application. The reality is simple: without fosters and adopters stepping up immediately, these dogs have no options left.

You don't need a forever commitment to save a life.

Opening your home to foster gives a dog a safe place to land, decompress, and the time they desperately need to find a family. We cover all supplies and medical care, you just provide the safe space and love.

If you can’t foster or adopt right now, please don't just scroll past. Sharing this post costs nothing and could be the exact lifeline that reaches the person who can step up today. They are waiting on us, so let's get them out.

It didn’t take long for Milton’s forever family to realize he was meant for them, and really, who could resist that big, handsome smile? 🥹💙

Thank you to Dave and Elena for stepping up to get him off the streets, opening their home to foster this sweet guy when no owners came forward to reclaim him, and giving him all the love and care he needed until his adoptive family came along.

Milton left a huge mark on their hearts in just a few short days. While he’ll definitely be missed, we’re all celebrating knowing he has such a wonderful life ahead!

ADOPTABLE WINNIE 💕

Winnie is estimated to be almost 3 years old and is truly the whole package. She is cat friendly, kid friendly, and does great with dogs of all sizes. She absolutely loves people, but she will need a patient family willing to give her a little extra time to warm up and feel comfortable.

Winnie loves having a dog friend to play and wrestle with all day, so she will need a home with another playful dog.

She is blind in one eye, but it does not affect her lifestyle at all. She is just a little clumsy sometimes and may bump into things. 😂 She is also crate trained and does not have accidents in her crate, although she may voice her opinion about being in there for the first ten minutes.

When Winnie gets excited, she lifts her lips and gives you the funniest little smile. 😂 She is also an A+ snuggler and professional bed fluffer. At night, she will curl up in bed with you and sleep straight through until morning.

Winnie is sweet, playful, affectionate, and ready to find a family with a dog friend she can love just as much as she will love her people.

This is news we never, ever want to share. Dayton is back in our care, through absolutely no fault of his own. 💔

Dayton waited so long for his turn, and we truly thought he had found the family he’d spend the rest of his life with. Sadly, due to a housing move that wouldn't allow him to come along, Dayton had to start all over again.

He did nothing wrong. Right now, he’s just sitting in his crate trying to understand why his whole world suddenly changed, and seeing that confusion in his eyes is completely heartbreaking.

Dayton deserves a permanent, forever spot. Here is why he'll steal your heart:
