We are so thankful to Gas South who made quite the *splash* for a cause last week! 🥎🌊💦

As part of Gas South’s Summer Volunteerism Tour, their team brought the fun and fundraising to ‘Dunk for a Difference’ in Gainesville. Led by President and CEO Kevin Greiner, their senior leaders volunteered to take a seat in the dunk tank while Gas South donated $100 for every dunk to support United Way North Central Florida.

Thanks to their amazing team, they raised $1,000 to help further our mission. At Gas South, giving back is more than something they do, it’s part of who they are.

🙏 A BIG thank you to everyone who participated and helped turn a little friendly competition into a meaningful impact. We’re so grateful for your continued support! 💙💛❤️

Meet ALICE® (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed).

Across the U.S., 41%* of households couldn’t make ends meet in 2024. That included 13% in poverty and another 29% that were ALICE, with income above the Federal Poverty Level but less than the cost of basics.

That’s 2 in 5 households in our nation facing impossible choices - food or medicine, rent or child care.

Together, we can change the narrative and ensure that *all* households have better choices than this.

Dig into our newest Report, The in the United States: UnitedForALICE.org

*Percentages are rounded from 12.5% Poverty, 28.8% ALICE, and 41.3% Total.

This Thursday, 7/16. from 9-11:30am is the Safe Kids North Central Florida Coalition Car Seat Check Up Event led by UF Health, generously sponsored by the Children's Trust of Alachua County.

If you live in Alachua County and participate in programs like WIC, Medicaid, Medicare, or SNAP, you may be eligible to receive a car seat at no cost.

A car seat is one of the most effective ways to keep your child safe while on the road, but making sure it’s used correctly can be tricky.

During your car seat checkup appointment, nationally certified Child Passenger Safety Technician(s) will work with you in a hands-on, educational session to ensure your child’s seat is installed properly. You’ll leave feeling confident in both the installation and your ability to do it yourself in the future.

For more information, and to get registered, visit www.eventbrite.com/e/uf-health-hosted-car-seat-check-up-appt-july-16-2026-tickets-1988412701918
