Clifton Cargill Jr. Foundation The Clifton Cargill Jr. We believe that cycling can be a powerful tool for personal growth and community engagement.

Our mission is to empower at-risk youth by providing them with the tools to strengthen their mental health and take an active role in their physical well-being through the sport of cycling. Foundation offers accessible and comprehensive cycling training to youth of all backgrounds, with a special focus on at-risk communities. Therefore, we are committed to helping our participants develop the skil

ls and confidence needed to succeed on and off the bike. Through our programs, we aim to create a supportive community of riders who are passionate about cycling and dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyles. We will provide our participants with the resources they need to succeed, including access to cycling equipment and training, bicycle safety clinics, and exposure to holistic techniques to promote mental wellness. Our approach is proactive rather than reactive. Therefore, we aim to equip participants with the tools to manage their mental health throughout their lives and approach all future challenges with confidence. Join us in our mission to empower the next generation of cyclists and create a brighter future for our communities.

Cycling is a wonderful way to improve the mental health of your child while teaching them to prioritize their physical health. Most importantly, riding a bicycle helps to get your child outdoors and encourages environmental exploration.

In case you need a soft place to land today 🫶🏾

Which of these words stand out to you?

Forgiveness stands out to me because I am learning to be kinder to myself. We are often our harshest critics. We beat ourselves up for the smallest of missteps, but that isn’t the way you treat someone you love. Be gentle. Forgive yourself. You deserve a second, third and as many chances as you need.

Did you know that in 2018, children in the United States spent an average of 7.5 hours per day in front of screens, compared to just 2.5 hours outdoors? That is a dramatic decline from 1997, when children played outside for at least 60 minutes per day.

There are so many benefits to spending time outdoors. This is true for both adolescents and adults. Kids who spend more time outdoors have lower rates of obesity, anxiety, and depression.

They also have better cognitive function and academic performance.

Do you have trouble convincing your child to go outside? We want to help! Visit our website cliftoncargilljr.org to learn more about how we are getting kids outside again.
