When a community comes together with a shared purpose, amazing things happen!

The Gainesville-Alachua County Association of REALTORS® (GACAR) Giving Circle has raised more than $250,000 to support housing-related causes in North Central Florida since 2024.

Founded on the belief that collective giving creates a greater impact, the GACAR Giving Circle brings together REALTORS®, business partners, and community members who share a passion for improving housing opportunities for our neighbors.

Through generosity, collaboration, and a commitment to giving back, the Giving Circle supports local nonprofit organizations working to address critical housing needs.

Here is a lesson learned from attendee Patrick Dodds with Southern Legal Counsel, Inc.

We were thrilled to host more than 40 nonprofit professionals for a Donor-Advised Fund Training.
This session provided valuable insights into donor advised funds and how nonprofits can better understand and leverage these charitable giving tools to strengthen donor relationships and advance their missions.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a wonderful opportunity to learn, connect, and grow together!

We were excited to join Santa Fe College as they launched an initiative based on a model developed by the Florida Chamber of Commerce to combat poverty locally. Area residents, community partners, and local leaders were in attendance to offer input on solutions and discuss actionable next steps. Others joining the launch of this effort include the University of Florida, the Greater Gainesville Chamber of Commerce, and SouthState Bank.

At the same time, members of the Women's Giving Circle (North Central Florida) gathered to discuss how funding might be mobilized to support this initiative. Thank you to River Phoenix Center for Peacebuilding for guiding our discussions. This community-wide effort, with input directly from the community, will lead to collective action by focusing on existing resources and community efforts in areas most stricken by poverty.

A special thank you to the school’s principal for showing our team and Board member Ray McKnight around and sharing how these funds are being put to work to support students and their school community.
