The City of Gainesville’s month-long “Journey to Juneteenth” celebration, from Florida Emancipation Day (May 20) through the widely-recognized Juneteenth holiday (June 19), honors the long and turbulent journey to freedom, while staying true to our history of Florida Emancipation on May 20.

The Community Foundation provided funding to Deeper Purpose Community Resource Center to keep their food pantry open last fall. Thank you to Deeper Purpose for including the Foundation in your grant re-opening and for continuing to meet the needs of the High Springs and Alachua communities.

The Women’s Giving Circle gathered last night for grant presentations as donors prepare to award more than $160,000 to nonprofits serving women and girls in our community.

Hosted at Raise Your Glass Wine Bar & Food, the evening was a powerful reminder of what happens when women come together to invest in meaningful change.
