PFLAG Fresno PFLAG Fresno is a local chapter of a wider national organization focusing on providing support, education, and advocacy for LGBTQ+ people.

We aim to make Fresno safer and more welcoming for all. Join us on the 2nd Sunday of each month for our meetings. PFLAG Fresno meets both in-person at Wesley United Methodist and on Zoom on the second Sunday of each month from 2 'til 4pm. We also do community outreach in the form of informational tabling, literature distribution, and speaker events. Our aim is to make Fresno a better and safer place for our LGBTQ+ community.

Join us for our NEW! program, Family Dinner Night!!

🗓️We’ll meet Thursday, August 27th from 5:30-7:30 at the Q***r Collective community center to have a great dinner (we provide it free!), meet other families in our community, and make friends.

This is a time and space to build valuable community connections for both you and your kids.

We know and love that ‘family’ means different things to different people and that not all families look alike. We not only welcome all the families of our community- we are actively and intentionally creating this space for you and your people, in whatever form your family takes!

We’ll have activities for you and the kids. Please do note that kids under 18 must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian through the entirety of the event.

Come, have a great dinner on us, and widen your circle!

(Please note, this event was previously advertised as being every month on the 4th Thursdays, but we are needing to make adjustments to the future schedule. This dinner will still happen on the 27th!)

Little Q***r Book Club meets this Saturday 3-5 at the Q***r Collective community center (where our Little Q***r Library is!)

We’re reading The Emperor of Gladness by Ocean Vuong:

“ Set against the backdrop of East Gladness, Connecticut, this profound narrative explores the poignant bond between Hai, a nineteen-year-old on the brink of su***de, and Grazina, an elderly widow struggling with dementia. After a life-saving encounter during a stormy night, Hai becomes Grazina’s caretaker, transforming his life through the unforeseen friendship. Throughout a year of companionship, their relationship deepens, weaving a tapestry of empathy, spiritual growth, and mutual healing. ‘The Emperor of Gladness’ articulates the essence of human existence on the societal margins, interlacing themes of love, labor, and loneliness. Vuong’s mastery in blending narrative elegance with emotional depth shines through as he delves into the core of American narrative and universal truths about suffering, hope, and the human condition.”

And don’t forget our other fun, free community offerings this coming week!
