We welcome all to show solidarity with our families by marching with us at parade and festival this Saturday!!

📍 Park at Fresno City College and take the free shuttle bus down to the Palm/Olive staging area by 9:30-9:45ish (earlier is better bc half of Fresno will want to be on those shuttle buses!) and then look for us in our PFLAG green t shirts. Bring an uplifting, affirming sign or use one of ours.

📖 We especially welcome librarians *in their role as private citizens* to walk with us! If you’re a librarian who marches with our group, we will waive the fees to become a member of both and PFLAG Fresno.

(To be clear- *everyone* is welcome and membership is not a requirement to march with us!)

Afterward come find us at booths 49 & 50, where we’ll have a very small portion of our ~1,400 q***r and inclusive books from our Sr Alan Hart branch of our Little Q***r Library at ***r_collective_fresno to peruse.

And don’t forget to support your local library by stopping by the ‘s booth at the 101 spot, and our friends Ashley and Carlos of .books where they’ll have a free community library!

Our next Little Q***r Book Club meetup is this Saturday May 23rd from 3-5pm at the ***r_collective_fresno ! Come and discuss Audre Lorde’s Zami: A New Spelling Of My Name, and pick ups copy of our next read, The Seven Moons of Mali Almeida by Shehan Karunatilaka.

Didn’t get a chance to finish Zami? No worries, come hang out with a chill group of folks in a very q***r space, surrounded by q***r books!

We also invite you to march with us at Pride on June 6th! Just park at Fresno City College, take the free shuttle down to the Palm/Olive staging area before 10, and look for PFLAG in our green shirts! We’d love to have you!

We had the honor to set up a little table in the shade at McLane HS’s mental health fair today. Thank you for inviting us and being so warm and welcoming with the snacks and water. 😁 Board Member Misty enjoyed spending time chatting with all of the students, staff, and other vendors that stopped by our booth so we could share with them how we support the community. If you’d like to join our board members at one of our upcoming tabling opportunities, please let us know! We can always use a few more volunteers helping us with outreach and connections. 🫶🏼

PFLAG supports the freedom to read, our public libraries, our fabulous librarians!!

🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈We joyfully extend an invitation to any librarians or library students to join us walking in Fresno Rainbow Pride on June 6th! Just park at Fresno City College, take the free shuttle down to Palm/Olive and look for our green shirts to join up. (Or DM us for more details.)

➡️As a courtesy and in thanks for your dedication to the ideals of freedom and equality, we gratefully extend any librarian who walks with us in the Pride parade membership in PFLAG Fresno and PFLAG National, with fees waived for the year.

‼️This invitation is extended to private, tax-paying citizens who just happen to be librarians, and you’ll be marching as members of PFLAG (and neither in any professional capacity nor as official representatives of any employers).

Our Board Member Madison not only stood in front of the Fresno County Board of Supervisors speaking truth to power this week, she also penned an excellent op ed for the Bee. Swipe thru to the QR code to the article 🔗 where you can read the entirety of her very powerful words.

“I want to see a world where no one faces erasure because of the personal whims of government officials — a world that celebrates the unique diversity within our culture, including the LGBTQ+ community. In the words of Maya Angelou, ‘the truth is, no one of us can be free until everybody is free.’”
