Guiding Principles
We educate and encourage people to ride safely, knowledgeably, and confidently. We create community and social connection through bicycling.

FCBC works to buildhealthy, equitable, and safe communities through advocacy, education and collaboration that promotes bicycling for everyday transportation and recreation. Vision
We envision a Fresno County that is a beacon of positive transformation where bicycling is safe, enjoyable, and accessible to all, and is an integral part of a sustainable multimodal transportation system. We promote equitable access to bicycling. We promote bicycling for economic vitality, health, and wellbeing. What is the Coalition? The FCBC is a volunteer-run organization based on the support of its members. Members' time and donations help make Fresno County a safer place to live and ride. Meetings
All of our meetings are open to the public, and we are always eager to hear about your experiences bicycling in this county. We are always open to suggestions and we can definitely use your help!

APBP recently approved a large-scale update to its Vision Zero Policy Statement in October 2026. APBP believes traffic-related fatalities and serious injuries are preventable and should not be tolerated and that reaching zero traffic fatalities and serious injuries is the goal. That goal is known as “Vision Zero” or “Toward Zero Deaths.” APBP supports “the Safe System Approach” as the method to reach that goal.

Fresno voters face two half-cent sales tax measures this year. Measure D would fund city services with few spending restrictions; Measure S would dedicate revenue to transportation across Fresno County. SBCA endorses Yes on Measure S, and no position on Measure D.

The term “neighborway” describes roads where drivers move so carefully that kids can ride their bikes in the street. Somerville’s neighborways has not always gone over well with drivers, but the city has seen results from its embrace of pedestrian-friendly infrastrcuture: Somerville has not has a single traffic death in four years.

Somerville is embracing ‘extreme street makeovers’ to make its roads safer for pedestrians and cyclists.
