Tell Congress: Funding for Bike Safety Projects MUST Continue!
Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy erased the data that shows bike lanes reduce crashes and don’t cause congestion. Then he asked Congress to defund all bike lanes — and even remove bike lanes from busy roads.

Now, Congress may be listening: the Senate is considering adding language to the transportation reauthorization bill that would restrict what kinds of roads could have bike lanes on them at all.

We need everyone in Congress to hear us clearly: bike lanes save lives, and bicyclists have a right to ride on the roads and get home safely.

Tell your all of your elected representatives: vote NO on any transportation reauthorization bill that would restrict the ability of federal funding to be used on bike safety projects.

Regional Plans Released for 55-day Public Review and Comment
Public Hearing Set for July 29, 2026 at 5:30 pm

Regional Transportation Plans (RTP) establish regional goals, identify present and future transportation needs, deficiencies, and constraints, analyze potential solutions, estimate available funding, and propose investments. Fresno COG is required to prepare the Fresno County regions' long-range RTP per federal statute every four years.

The Sustainable Communities Strategy (SCS) is an integrated element of the Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) that is updated every four years. The SCS shows how integrated land use and transportation planning can lead to lower greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from autos and light trucks.
