Monthly Girls-Night-Out Dinners

At these dinners, which are usually at a local restaurant, we honor women who are experiencing some kind of irreplaceable loss. This could be a terminal illness, loss of an immediate family member, or some other non-material loss or tragedy. The dinner is a time to show support and encouragement to her. One way we do this is by presenting her with a monetary gift w

hich is a collection of money that the women in attendance have given. The money is collected in a bowl, and 100% of it goes directly to the recipient. It is a suggested $10 gift: some give more, and some give less. The money itself is not intended to be the main gift; it is just a tangible sign of the love and support behind it. At the dinner, the recipient randomly chooses the next month’s recipient from a box of nomination forms that have been filled out by those in attendance at the dinner.

Today, Helping One Woman remembers the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation 🇺🇸

Memorial Day is a time to honor the courage, strength, and selflessness of the men and women who gave their lives protecting the freedoms we hold dear.

As communities gather with family and friends, may we also take a moment to reflect on those who never made it home and the families who carry their legacy forward every day.

Their sacrifice will always matter. Their memory will always live on.

❤️ Honoring our fallen heroes
🤍 Remembering their sacrifice
💙 Grateful for their service

We are proud to announce that Madison Greene is the 2026 recipient of the Joyce Souza Memorial Scholarship!

Madison is currently attending the University of Arizona, where she is double majoring in Dance and Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. A dedicated student with perfect attendance since kindergarten, Madison has shown a strong commitment to both academics and dance throughout her life.

For the past twelve years, she has trained extensively in dance while balancing school and leadership opportunities. Her passion for helping children has also inspired her goal of becoming an elementary school speech pathologist, where she hopes to help students build confidence and communication skills.

Following the loss of her father in 2022, Madison has continued pursuing her goals in his honor while carrying forward the support and values instilled by her family.

Thanks to the generous support of the Central Valley Community Foundation and the Dan Souza Family Fund, we are proud to continue this scholarship in Joyce’s name.

Please join us in celebrating Madison and wishing her continued success as she pursues her dreams and makes a positive impact on others.

Congratulations, Madison Greene!

This May, Helping One Woman National is shining a light on the incredible women of our Ventura Chapter and their upcoming OPEN HOUSE event.

Instead of honoring one recipient this month, Helping One Woman - Ventura is inviting the community to come together for an evening of connection, inspiration, and conversation about the mission behind Helping One Woman.

For years, this chapter has brought women together through compassion, generosity, and support — making a meaningful impact for women and families throughout the community. This special gathering is an opportunity to meet members, hear stories, and learn more about how women helping women truly changes lives.

At Helping One Woman, every act of kindness is powered entirely by volunteers. From our Board of Directors to our Chapter Leaders and the helpers who support each dinner, no one is paid. Every event and every effort is driven by people who care deeply about helping women in their communities.

This volunteer led mission allows more support to go directly toward women facing unexpected hardships while building meaningful connections through each gathering.

We are incredibly grateful for every volunteer who gives their time, energy, and heart to make Helping One Woman possible.

Women supporting women is more than a phrase, it’s a force for real change.

When one woman is lifted up, an entire community grows stronger. At HelpingOneWoman.org, we believe in showing up for each other through compassion, resources, and solidarity because no woman should have to face life’s challenges alone.

Every act of kindness matters.
