Helping One Woman - National We are a non profit organization with a mission to support and help one woman at a time. Each chapter has one recipient a month.

Monthly Girls-Night-Out Dinners

At these dinners, which are usually at a local restaurant, we honor women who are experiencing some kind of irreplaceable loss. This could be a terminal illness, loss of an immediate family member, or some other non-material loss or tragedy. The dinner is a time to show support and encouragement to her. One way we do this is by presenting her with a monetary gift w

hich is a collection of money that the women in attendance have given. The money is collected in a bowl, and 100% of it goes directly to the recipient. It is a suggested $10 gift: some give more, and some give less. The money itself is not intended to be the main gift; it is just a tangible sign of the love and support behind it. At the dinner, the recipient randomly chooses the next month’s recipient from a box of nomination forms that have been filled out by those in attendance at the dinner.

Happy 5th Anniversary to the Helping One Woman Lodi Chapter!

On August 25, 2021, the Lodi Chapter became part of the Helping One Woman family. Five years later, the chapter continues to bring people together around the simple but powerful idea at the heart of HOW: when a community comes together for one woman, it can make a meaningful difference.

Over the past five years, countless people have walked through the doors of a Lodi dinner ready to show up for a woman with ties to their community. Each gathering, each recipient gift, each encouraging word, and each person who has volunteered their time has helped shape the chapter into what it is today.

To the Lodi Chapter Leaders, volunteers, dinner guests, and everyone who has supported a recipient along the way, thank you for five wonderful years of carrying the HOW mission forward.

And the tradition continues! The Lodi Chapter will soon come together to honor their next recipient, Jess King. Join them for another special evening of community and support.

Happy 18th Anniversary to Helping One Woman - Visalia!

For 18 years, the Helping One Woman Visalia Chapter has been proving that a caring community can change someone's life, one dinner at a time.

Since August 2009, women have gathered month after month to celebrate, encourage, and support one woman facing an unexpected hardship. What began as a simple idea has become a beautiful tradition built on compassion, connection, and the belief that no one should have to walk through life's difficult seasons alone.

This month, the Visalia Chapter is honored to come together for **Jodi Contreras**. We invite you to join us as we celebrate both Jodi and 18 years of neighbors helping neighbors, friendships being formed, and lives being touched through the Helping One Woman mission. They are women from their own communities who choose to give their time, talents, and hearts to ensure one woman each month feels seen, supported, and surrounded by kindness.

Behind every dinner is someone coordinating details, answering questions, and making sure everything comes together. They do it because they believe in the mission and in the power of community.

Real change doesn't always begin with grand gestures. Sometimes it starts with a room full of women, a shared meal, and a community that chooses to show up for someone who needs to know they're not alone.

Helping One Woman brings communities together each month to celebrate and support one woman with ties to that community who is experiencing an irreplaceable loss. Every attendee contributes a minimum gift of $10, and together those individual gifts become something far more meaningful: hope, encouragement, tangible support.

It's amazing what happens when one community decides to help one woman.
