Beyond the roof and beyond the walls, we go beyond solar. GRID is helping people build better lives and I'm grateful to be a part of it. Now, it's time for a nap.

Edgar Rodriguez is our newest trainee, who recently picked up his tools after being hired by a construction company. Although he trained in solar and is now stepping into construction, he’s excited about the path ahead. Through IBT 200, Edgar strengthened his teamwork, sharpened his communication skills, and gained hands-on experience in professionalism. On behalf of GRID Central Valley, congratulations Edgar!

This work is funded by the initiative,
through Fresno County Economic Development Corporation and the US EDA’s grant.

As always, special thanks to our generous partners at Edison International for sponsoring his tools. Southern California Edison (SCE)

After 6 weeks of intensive solar training, 10 dedicated trainees proudly graduated today from IBT 200!
From the incredible support of families to the partners who showed up to celebrate, this was truly one of our best graduations yet. (And yes—it might have had something to do with the amazing free food generously provided by Owens Valley Career Development Center)
On behalf of GRID Central Valley, congratulations to all the graduates! Your hard work is already making a difference—because of your training, 8 families now have access to solar energy just in time to beat the summer heat.
We’re proud of you and excited to see the impact you’ll continue to make in our communities.

As graduation approaches, many students are planning their next step—often a four-year college. But that path isn’t for everyone. The Solar Futures program offers graduating seniors a powerful alternative: a chance to jumpstart a fulfilling career in the solar industry.

One of the toughest jobs in solar isn’t on the roof—it’s in the classroom. Lead Instructor Tony Rodriguez brings energy and engagement to every training. To celebrate his dedication, check out this day-in-the-life reel by our talented SolarCorps Fellow, Angela Moua.
