Children experiencing foster care may be carrying the effects of trauma, separation, loss and uncertainty. This shapes how they feel, behave and connect with others.
CASA volunteer training emphasizes understanding how mental health affects children and families, recognizing the role of resilience, and advocating for children to receive the individualized support and services they need.
Sometimes making a difference begins with one consistent adult who listens, notices, asks questions and keeps showing up.
