✨Blair Community Spotlight✨

Every year, our friends at First Lutheran Church-ELCA host a Mother’s Day Ingathering to support individuals and families impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault. This week, Pastor Glenn delivered items collected by their congregation to ensure local survivors have the resources they need to find safety and healing.

We are incredibly grateful for their generosity and impact! 💜

June is full of warmth and sunlight, making it a perfect time to shine a light on why everyone deserves healthy love ☀️🫶

Pride Month and Elder Abuse Awareness Month remind us of the diverse identities and relationships that make up our community. Healthy love is essential for all relationships. Whether someone is exploring different kinds of relationships or dating later in life, everyone deserves love that is kind, honest, respectful, and safe 💜

Monthly Reflection: Listen with Empathy 🌿

This month reminded us that kindness isn’t always about what we say--it’s often about how we listen. 💛

Feeling heard can make someone feel valued, supported, and connected.

Our Education Room recently received upgraded tables thanks to the generosity of the Fremont Area Community Foundation and Riekes Equipment🎉💜

Our Education Room plays an essential role in our mission, serving as the space where we provide prevention and education training to volunteers, community partner agencies, and students. This space is also utilized to host meetings with our fellow members of the Dodge County Coordinated Response Team as we discuss ways to continue creating meaningful change together.

Survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault may feel that they are not worthy of love or self-care. The truth is that everyone deserves to be loved and cared for, and we all have the power to be our own caregivers.

Self-care is a tool that anyone can turn to when coping or healing from abuse. It's about focusing on your health, well-being, and comfort. Start by taking a moment for yourself today. Consider going for a walk or listening to your favorite song. Everyone heals in their own way, and what matters most is finding what works best for you 💜

We love hearing how our youth education programs make a real difference in classrooms 💜🎉

A teacher from our service area recently shared that the “Warhead Trick,” taught by Stacey, helped a young student regain control when they began feeling overwhelmed by their emotions. Simple sensory strategies, like tasting sour candy, can interrupt feelings of anxiety and help refocus the brain.

By giving students tools to manage their emotions during difficult moments, we’re helping equip them with skills to navigate future challenges and social interactions.

Safety is a basic right. No one should ever have to live in fear of abuse, domestic violence, or sexual assault.

However, reaching out for help can be daunting. Survivors may not know the exact support they need or fear that their abuser will discover they have reached out for help. If you or someone you know has been affected by this violence, know that you are not alone. Our team provides free and confidential services, a listening ear, and support whenever you need it most.

As part of our mission, we are dedicated to providing a welcoming, safe, and comfortable environment for victims, survivors, and their children as they receive advocacy support. We are truly grateful to have the Fremont Church of the Nazarene partner with us to update our intake room, ensuring that survivors can meet with our team in a safe, supportive setting 💜

👋Hey FCN family and Fremont community

💫We have started a partnership with The Bridge From Violence here in Fremont.
This organization is on the front lines with those dealing with domestic violence. The Bridge has an intake room that needs some TLC and
through prayer and many meetings we have decided to partner by taking on the room.
This room is the first stop/ bridge to healing, peace, and safety. We here at FCN have created a list to turn this room into a welcoming, and peaceful place.
We have created a list of items for families, businesses or individuals to sponsor and FCN will coordinate, decorate and install.

Please scan the QR code for list of items, and reach out to us with any questions.
Thank you for your continued support and let’s get out there and LOVE SERVE SACRIFICE!
