Meet our Artists! Karen Thurlow began creating at a very young age when her mother encouraged her to draw. She is largely self taught with some private lessons thrown in here and there.
Karen creates from an intuitive need to express herself. She started with portraits and gradually experimented with other subject matter, growing to love those as well.
She enjoys the medium of acrylic due to its fast drying aspect and that she can easily correct or paint over what she doesn’t like.
Karen was often accompanied in the studio by her cat, Cleo. Cleo was fond of rearranging still life bouquets and sitting on Karen’s palette!
