📸 This week's contribution to society is for the photographers, the millennials, the boomers, and anyone who remembers when taking a picture involved actual patience, a little faith, and the possibility of getting 24 blurry photos back two weeks later.

Remember when you had to WAIT to see if your pictures turned out?!

And when "deleting a photo" meant throwing away a perfectly good 37-cent print? 😂

Ahhh, the good old days. When cameras had film, phones had cords, and nobody knew what you ate for lunch unless they were actually THERE.

When there's no FPS school for students there's no Aspire For Greatness afterschool program.

We know it's sad, but we'll be back on Thursday when school is back in session!

Don't forget the potluck for Brian THIS FRIDAY from 5:00-7:00 pm to send him off into his new adventure.

We greatly appreciate you taking the time to impart wisdom about leadership, serving others, finding your purpose, and the one thing that makes it all matter!

It's week!!!! 🤩🤩🤩

We missed pictures the first day, but so excited to have Midland University students volunteering at Aspire this week!

They went along with our youth that are facility STEM activities with younger youth at local elementary schools for workforce development. 👏

They played games outside with our 5th-8th grade and 9th-12th grade afterschool program participants. 👏

We're so thankful to be part of such a special community that supports each other and elevates volunteering.

Many of you have gotten to know Brian over the last four years as a staff member of Aspire. For the entire school year last year he had to put up with it just being the two of us for staff. Wild, right?! There should be hazard pay or something!

The entire time he's worked at Aspire he has worked a second job in the mornings because Aspire does not have the funding to provide our staff pay at the amount we would like. Most recently Brian has left his house in Gretna in the morning, drove to north Omaha to work at the Open Door Mission, then to Fremont to spend the afternoon working at Aspire, then after driving a bunch of teenagers home at the end of Aspire he'd head back home to Gretna. And then he'd do it all again the next day. 😳

The Lord has opened a door for him to work full time at the Open Door Mission. 🙌 While we are super sad to see him go, it is pretty cool to see how God works everything out for our good and His glory. It's a sad day for Aspire, but we are excited for the blessing this new job will be to Brian and his family. 💖

While his last official day with us will be tomorrow, there will be a little shindig to celebrate Brian and his impact at Aspire NEXT FRIDAY (October 16) from 5-7 pm.

All are welcome.

Open House, potluck style.

Bring something to share if you'd like, just stop by and help send Brian off with well wishes, or stay awhile for food and fellowship.
