This past Saturday, Vincent Village was honored by the Indiana State Organization of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated during its annual state leadership conference!

Our Director of Youth Services, Taylan Townes, proudly accepted the recognition and a generous donation on behalf of Vincent Village.

This support reflects the sorority’s commitment to The Power of SHE, a national initiative focused on service and community impact.

We are grateful to the Indiana State Organization and local host chapter Eta Upsilon Zeta Chapter for its generosity and for the opportunity to share Vincent Village’s mission with leaders of Zeta from across the state!

A Legacy of Service. A Future of Hope.

In December 1989, the Fort Wayne News-Sentinel announced the opening of Vincent House, a place where families experiencing homelessness could find shelter, stability, and hope.

More than 36 years later, that same mission continues to guide us.

At our recent Fall Gala, A Place at Our Table, we reflected on the people, partnerships, and generosity that built Vincent Village’s legacy of service. We also shared a vision for the future, one that includes a new shelter designed to provide families with greater dignity, privacy, and the support they need to build a brighter future.

As you look through these pieces of our history and the rendering of what’s to come, we hope you see more than buildings. We hope you see the thousands of lives touched, the families who have found a place to call home, and a community that continues to show up for its neighbors.

We are especially grateful to our Fall Gala sponsors, whose generosity helps carry this mission forward. Your investment is not just in Vincent Village. It is in the families we serve and the futures they are working to build.

Where’s Alan? 👀

Thursday: on the golf course.
Saturday: at the dance studio.

Board member Alan Buck has been making the rounds for Vincent Village! Last Thursday, he represented us at the WaterFurnace Golf Outing, and Saturday we headed to Fred Astaire Dance Studios for another fundraiser.

We’re grateful to both organizations for supporting our mission and the families we serve, and to Alan for always showing up for the Village.

Now the real question is… where will Alan be next? 😂

Last week, we celebrated a beautiful milestone as another family transitioned from shelter into one of our homes.

This is what brighter futures look like. A safe place to call home, greater stability, and a new chapter for a family moving forward.

Women's Equality Day marks the moment women won the right to vote. More than a century later, equality is still being built—one stable home at a time.

Many of the mothers who come to Vincent Village are doing something remarkable: rebuilding their lives while raising their children, managing a crisis while protecting their kids from it.

Housing instability doesn't just affect an address. It affects job security, school stability, and a mother's ability to plan for tomorrow. At Vincent Village, we walk alongside those mothers—not for a night, but for years.

Science doesn't pause just because a family is between homes.

Kids at Vincent Village recently spent an afternoon with the Don Wood Foundation building, testing, and asking "what if" through hands-on STEM activities.

For a few hours, they weren't thinking about anything except the experiment in front of them. That's the point.

Partners like Don Wood Foundation make sure Youth Services stays full of moments like this.

Tree Canopy Growth Fundxample of what partnership can accomplish. 💙

Nearly 40 Indiana Michigan Power employees joined us for United Way of Allen County’s Day of Caring to beautify our Village. Together, we mulched, planted perennial bulbs and, in partnership with the Tree Canopy Growth Fund, planted new trees throughout our neighborhood.

This work is about more than landscaping. Housing means more than having a roof over your head. Families deserve to come home to a neighborhood that feels safe, beautiful and cared for, and to homes and surroundings held to the same standard we would want for our own families. That sense of pride, safety and stability matters for the well-being of the families we serve.

We’re incredibly grateful for the partnerships that made today possible and for everyone who invested their time and care into our Village. 💙
