GUIDELINES FOR ROLL-OFF CONTAINERS/TRUCKS

Materials that cannot be put into the container/truck include:

Anti-freeze Chemicals Tires
Appliance with Freon Fire Extinguishers Used Oil
Asphalt Fluorescent Bulbs Concrete
Auto Fluids Freon Refrigerant
Auto Parts Hazardous Waste Liquids
TV’s/Electronics Oil Based Paint Explosives
Closed Containers Items Containing Mercury Pesticides
Compressed Gas Lead Acid Batteries Herbicides Radioactive Materials Special Waste Fertilizers

*** Latex paint cans need to be dried out before placing in the container. We cannot accept paint in a liquid form because it may leak out onto the ground or street.

Our new portrait wall was celebrated on the City website! You can check it out below!

A new portrait wall is now offering a unique perspective of the history in the Nebraska Neighborhood just west of downtown Fort Wayne.

Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for the ribbon cutting of the new Nebraska Portrait wall at the corner of W Main St & Fry St! We hope you enjoy seeing this new celebration of the Nebraska community and history.

This was a Neighborhood Improvement Grant project through the Department of Neighborhoods with the City. Fort Wayne Community Schools agreed to let us install the wall at the Nebraska School.

Come celebrate the completion of the Mechanic Street Bridge! Ribbon cutting TOMORROW (Thursday July 24th) at 1:30 PM!

Will take place on the East Swinney Park side of the bridge.
A golf cart is available to transport folks from parking. You may also park on the Mechanic Street side of the bridge and walk across.

We hope to see you there!

A construction project for rehabilitation of the historic Mechanic St. Bridge, a Pratt truss pedestrian bridge built in 1898 located in the Nebraska Neighborhood.
