2️⃣ SoS Diego Morales says he’s staying in the race, despite suddenly losing endorsements from fellow MAGA Republicans after polling shows him to be vulnerable, and a new candidate enters the race less than a month before the Republican convention.

Here’s what’s truly upsetting: it wasn’t the credible allegations of cronyism, misuse of taxpayer dollars, sexual harassment, and failure to carry out job duties that finally lost him this support. It was the chance that he’d lose the race.

In Indiana, we don’t actually have “registered Republicans” and “registered Democrats.” Voters select the party ballot of their choice in the primaries. But some political figures are seeking to change these rules by locking voters into a party, alleging that traditionally Democratic voters helped swing some very close Republican primary outcomes.

It’s May, which means property tax assessments are out and schools are eyeing next year’s budgets.

But in Indiana, now it also means RIF, referendums, and revenue cuts.

Thanks to over two decades of school privatization efforts, our public schools are facing unprecedented pressures. Top-rated schools are cutting positions. Rural schools are closing down. All across the state, districts are being forced to ask local voters to provide funding that the state has cut.

Indiana lawmakers have turned their backs on public schools, and in doing so, they’ve turned their backs on Hoosiers.
