Emerald Coast Exchange Club We meet at Corner Café 801 James Lee Rd, Fort Walton Beach, FL. Our meetings start at 6 pm on the Second and Fourth Thursday of each month. Come join US!!

Plan to arrive 15-30 min early to eat and socialize. What We Do~

Exchange Clubs enjoy a great deal of autonomy and a local club may offer service opportunities through a variety of projects and programs available through the National organization or may include some activities unique to the Emerald Coast Community. Examples of a few of these activities are:

AMERICANISM:

project GIVE A KID A FLA

G TO WAVE~ Giving 3x5 American flgas to kids at parades, festivals or school assemblies. the FREEDOM SHRINE~ Displaying reproductions of historic documents relating to the creation of our great nation and the freedoms we enjoy. They may be found in schools, parks or other public places. PROUDLY WE HAIL~ Recognizing a local business who flies the flag every day with dignity and respect. ONE NATION UNDER GOD~ Sharing with others a belief that there truly is a higher power. COMMUNITY SERVICE:

Projects to recognize outstanding law enforcement officers and firefighters Including the Book of Golden Deeds, which honors selfless volunteers. YOUTH PROJECTS:

Youth of the Month/Year recognized high school students for their academic record and volunteer efforts. The ACE Award honors students who overcome personal or physical challenges to complete high school. Local winners are submitted for competition that could lead to a $10,000 scholarship on the national level. Other activities include Young Citizenship Awards to middle school students. CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION:

Clubs are encouraged to seek out local agencies that care for abused children and their families. Support may include providing holiday shopping trips, outings to the zoo or theme park or establishing a Child Abuse Prevention Center.

Meet Milo, the Fort Walton Beach Police Department’s very own therapy dog — the fluffiest officer on duty!

Milo isn’t your typical K‑9. Instead of chasing suspects, he chases smiles. He spends his days brightening hallways, greeting staff with tail wags, and making sure everyone he meets gets a dose of comfort and joy. He even knows exactly which offices keep the good treats — and yes, he absolutely makes the rounds.

Now he’s coming to visit us… and you’re invited!

Come meet Milo, hear from his handler Sgt. Wohlin, and enjoy an uplifting look at how therapy dogs support wellness in our community.

Community Spotlight at Our May 28 Meeting!

We were honored to welcome Officer Steve Marlow of the Fort Walton Beach Police Department as our guest speaker this week. Officer Marlow delivered an eye‑opening and engaging discussion on local gang activity, breaking down how criminal groups in smaller rural communities operate very differently from those in major metropolitan areas. His insights helped our members better understand both the unique blessings of living in this area and the importance of staying aware and informed.

He also extended a warm invitation for our members — and the public — to stop by the Police Department and say hello to the team and to Milo, their long‑time and much‑loved service dog.

Officer Marlow fielded a ton of great questions and left us all with a deeper appreciation for the work our officers do every day to keep our community safe.

🌟 Congratulations to Emily Coteat — our Youth of a First Responder Scholarship winner! 🌟

Your dedication, character, and commitment to service reflect the very best of our community. The Exchange Club of Emerald Coast is proud to honor your achievements and your family’s legacy of courage.

Emily, a senior at Fort Walton Beach High School, was also recognized as our January Youth of the Month. This fall, she’ll attend the University of Florida, pursuing a degree in Health Sciences on her pathway to fulfill her dream of becoming a cardiothoracic surgeon.
