The best way to start the summer...BVL Golf 9-Pin No Tap Tournament! This tournament is filling in for our usual annual golf outing/fundraiser in support of the Bowlers to Veterans Link. USBC's BVL is a national nonprofit charity that supports America's veterans and service members through a myriad of recreational therapy programs and services to speed recuperation and boost morale. The funds we raise stay in the panhandle.

Congratulations to Donna L. Patrick . . . inducted into the ECUSBCA Hall of Fame for merit . . . Among other accomplishments, she won bowling prestigious Eagle award having previously won ladies singles competition. (This is a pretty cool tradition that I just learned about...at the Open Championships they recognize all past champions by placing an orange Eagle, a gold cup or the word "Champion" next to their names on the scoreboard each year they compete.)

We lost another member of our Emerald Coast bowling family, Otis Williams, this week. He was another that I first met on Eglin upon getting back into bowling back in 2010. Always smiling, always friendly, that was Otis.

Services for Otis Williams be held at 11 a.m. on 11 April at Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 113 Racetrack Road, FWB. (Visitation 10-11 a.m.)
