🎒💚 READY FOR SUCCESS: It Takes a Community! 💚🎒

On August 1st 2026, Community-Based Connections came together with our incredible partners to focus on what matters most—our students and families.

Our Ready for Success Back-to-School Expo is about more than backpacks and school supplies. It’s about making sure children walk into the new school year feeling prepared, confident, supported, and ready to succeed. It’s also about connecting families with resources, opportunities, and organizations committed to helping them thrive.

We extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to all of the partners who continue to support this effort and invest in our community, including Costco Wholesale, Children’s Services Council of Broward County, FPL, Handy, Just Cuts Barber Shop, Sanders Park Elementary, and every organization, volunteer, supporter, and community partner helping make this possible.

When businesses, nonprofits, schools, families, and community leaders work together, our children win. ❤️

🤝 Strengthening Fathers. Strengthening Families. Strengthening Communities.

Last week, members of the Community Based Connections, Inc. team had the opportunity to attend the Fatherhood Summit in Dallas, Texas!

It was an incredible experience filled with learning, innovation, networking, and collaboration. We connected with leaders and organizations who share our commitment to strengthening fathers, supporting families, and creating healthier communities.

Most importantly, we returned to South Florida inspired with new ideas, strategies, and opportunities to expand resources and strengthen the support available to fathers and families throughout our community.

We’re excited to take what we learned in Dallas and turn it into greater impact right here at home. Because when fathers are supported, families grow stronger—and communities thrive.

🚨 AI Can Replace Tasks. It Can’t Replace Purpose.

Last Thursday, our CEO Mike Olbel had the opportunity to tour the Workforce Lab at Goodwill South Florida in Fort Lauderdale. It was encouraging to see firsthand how organizations are preparing people for the future of work in an AI-driven world.

Artificial intelligence is here, and it’s transforming industries at an incredible pace. But there’s one thing AI can never replace:

Human purpose.

AI can’t build authentic relationships.
AI can’t demonstrate compassion.
AI can’t mentor a young person who’s lost hope.
AI can’t inspire someone to believe in themselves again.
AI can’t lead with integrity, empathy, and vision.

Technology will continue to evolve, but the greatest investment we can make is still in people.

The future isn’t about choosing between AI and humanity. It’s about equipping people with the skills to use technology while never losing the qualities that make us human.

Thank you to the Goodwill South Florida team for the tour and for your continued commitment to workforce development. Together, we can prepare people not just for the jobs of tomorrow, but for meaningful careers and purposeful lives.
