Paddy’s Paws Rescue
Dept Ag License: 527862 Thank you for visiting Paddy's Paws! Our primary goal is to find adoptive homes for amazing dogs that are located in shelters, rescues and foster homes. Our adoption process works a bit different than other shelters and rescues. Paddy's Paws serves as a coordinator for Houston rescues. We send out the applications, arrange homevisits and secure back up fosters for each of the dogs that will be transported here. Like most foster-based organizations, we do not have a facility and set up all appointments on an individual basis. Prior to any meet and greets, we require an approved application so you will need to go through all the steps before you can meet any of the available dogs in Wisconsin. The application, reference checks and homevisit are considered part of the general approval process and we cannot guarantee that a specific dog will still be available when you complete the process, but doing so will get you access to our "match making" service where you will have bios and pictures of multiple dogs that may be exactly what you're looking for! And, of course, there's always the possibility that the dog that sparked your initial interest will still be available! Begin your application process here: paddyspaws.blogspot.com

We start with the completed application and then check references/vet records. The next step is a homevisit with family and one of our representatives. Once we have gathered all this information, we provide it to the Houston team. Then, we can set up a meet and greet with available dogs. Essentially, Paddy's Paws provides the volunteer manpower and the Houston rescues, well, do the rescue! Adoptions are approved by the team and transportation is arranged! Paddy's Paws is a Non-Profit 501-c3 organization: EIN: 47-4005691

While you’re getting snug as a bug, check out these pug mugs that will be arriving to rescue October 25th.

We’re still learning about this trio of boys, but they are between 1 and 3, all around 20 pounds, super affectionate, dog friendly, and probably fart-y.

While we work on putting their profiles together as we get more information and pictures, perhaps you should start working on an application;)

Meet Maverick! He’s an 8 month old, petite beagle in need of a forever home.

And Maverick is all smiles as he awaits his forever home! Surrendered locally, Maverick's former family made the tough decision to let him find a new home. Maverick has been exposed to dogs of all ages, sizes and personalities and is very submissive to them. He previously lived with cats, who didn't appreciate his puppy energy or see him as playmate he had hoped to be! He’s lived with young children and adores them.

Maverick is very gentle and loving, and typical of
a beagle, he loves adventures and food! His ideal family would be one that will keep him stimulated and active and let him explore! He loves to play with other dogs, so a playmate would be a bonus! Maverick is crate trained and does well with his housetraining routine.

Do you have the time and love for one of the best breeds around? If you're a beagle person, you know this is a soulmate dog in the making!

Some surrender stories are more heartbreaking than others…

Originally adopted in Houston almost 6 years ago, the sudden death of his adopted dad led him back to rescue. Zeke grieved his dad, as he is such a loyal dog. He has now settled back into his foster home.

From his foster:

I cannot stress enough how wonderful Zeke is. He's the perfect 38 pound, medium sized dog for any family. He came into my home as a one day old puppy along with his two brothers and his pug mom (through pug rescue). He was adopted by a man who continued to raise him with perfect manners.

Returned after tragedy, he has attached himself to me, following me around, sleeping in my bed, laying on my lap and being the perfect boy. He truly is one of the best foster dogs I've had in my home and anyone adopting this boy will get a treasure.

Zeke comes to Wisconsin on 10/26 and deserves to have a family waiting with open arms.

Gypsy is a little love bug!

At a bit under 10 pounds, this five year old cutie is full of joy and happiness. Her housetraining skills are top notch and just need a little tweaking with a consistent schedule. Gypsy loves to run in her foster family’s fenced in backyard. She especially enjoys running around with the other dogs in her foster home. She plays respectfully with them and is also content to keep her teeth clean chewing on a bone snuggled in a dog bed.

She is crate trained but wouldn’t pass up an overnight snooze in a human’s bed as she doesn’t taken up much space. Gypsy has the cutest little dance to let you know she would like to be picked up. Her favorite thing to do is curling up in a lap and receiving all the chin scratches. Gypsy will make the perfect addition to your family!

Meet Cassie! This six-month-old mixed breed pup is playful, gentle, and good with other dogs. She enjoys walks, playing in the yard, and spending time with her people. Cassie can be shy when meeting new people or larger dogs but warms up with time. She does wonderful with smaller dogs. She’s doing well with leash training and potty training and sleeps quietly in her kennel overnight.

Cassie is looking for a patient, loving family to help her continue learning and growing. A friendly canine companion and fenced yard would be a bonus!

Fall Fest is coming up in our hometown and we are actively participating to help raise funds for a wonderful charity in our area: Randy Schopen Memorial Foundation

To help raise funds, we’ve created a Canine Costume Contest! Sign your pup up, make a $5 donation to a great cause, and attend a fantastic event! The winning pooch will take home a fabulous gift basket!

We will also have a booth at the event and have any available foster dogs attend so you can meet and greet! Attendance will be dependent on adoptable status and comfort at the event.

We were happy to be invited to meet with Girl Scout Troop 7783 in Fort Atkinson this week! The girls wanted to learn more about animal care, rescue, and why organizations like ours are so important.

A special thank you to our volunteers Tina and Amara, along with Paddy’s adopters Rich and Candy, who brought two of our Paddy’s dogs to meet the troop and share their experiences.

We love opportunities like this to educate our community about rescue, responsible pet care, volunteering, and adoption. Thank you, Troop 7783, for having us!
