❄️Next Up… Jena!❄️
Hi everyone! My name is Jena Lenz, and I am proud to be representing Jefferson County!
A little bit about me is that I’m 19 years old and a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin- River Falls, majoring in Agricultural Education with a minor in Agricultural Business. I currently work as a bartender, swim instructor, and respite caregiver. Along with that, I grew up working on farms, which sparked my lifelong passion for agriculture. I hope to one day share those experiences with my students and help grow and strengthen the agriculture industry for future generations. My long-term life goal is to return to my hometown and teach high school agriculture education and FFA. I’m also incredibly proud to be receiving my FFA American Degree this year on November 1st!
When it comes to snowmobiling, I’ve been extremely blessed. I started riding as soon as I could hold a throttle… on a Kitty Kat, of course! My love for the sport only grew thanks to my parents' involvement in snowmobiling. From a young age, I was helping with fundraising and community events. Now, I’m an active member of two local clubs, the Twin River Riders and Fort Drift Skippers. I help with fundraisers, put up trail signs, and, when southern Wisconsin is lucky enough to get snow, I even groom trails with my dad while I’m home from school. I’m also in the process of earning my Snowmobile Safety Instructor’s License, which I plan to complete this year in October. In 2021, I was able to create a youth club in Jefferson County JAYS (Jefferson Area Youth Snowmobilers), that continues to thrive today. This is also my second year serving as the Treasurer for AWSC KAOS (Kids and Adults on Snowmobiles). Through KAOS, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to attend the International Snowmobile Congress in Green Bay and Prince Edward Island, participate in directors’ meetings and leadership rides, learn how to public speak, and of course, find lifelong friends from all over Wisconsin.
If I am honored to become Miss Snowflake, my goal would be to promote youth snowmobile clubs across all counties. These clubs are an incredible way to get young riders involved, teach them how snowmobile organizations operate, and inspire leadership within the sport’s next generation. With that being said, I would promote more youth to join KAOS because it's been a life-changing experience for me. I’d also love to raise awareness about new safety technologies available for snowmobilers. In my experience, many of these innovations aren’t widely talked about, but they have the potential to save lives and reduce risks on the trails. Even one tragedy is too many, and I believe that if Wisconsin leads the way in adopting safety equipment and practices, our neighboring states and maybe even other countries will follow our example.
