Fort Atkinson Club Beautifully restored, historic, community center, located along the Rock River.

The Fort Atkinson Club is an independent, multi-purpose, nonprofit community center that serves the members, neighbors, and visitors of Fort Atkinson, WI. Our vision is that this historic downtown hub along the Rock River will provide people of all ages and backgrounds a place to come together through education, arts, wellness, business, community events, and other fun activities -- while showcasing the history, culture, and heritage of the area. We have developed a wide variety of ways to nurture and support our vibrant community and offer many opportunities for others to participate in this positive collaboration.

Meet the artists of "Homegrown: Locally Sourced Art from the Rocker River Region", on display at FAC through TOMORROW, October 17.

Julie Puz Wilson is a Wisconsin-based artist who bridges the worlds of science and art through highly detailed digital illustrations and traditional paintings. Inspired by wild creatures, dramatic light, and the gritty patina of time-worn objects, Julie creates work that is both evocative and whimsical. Through her diverse portfolio, she aims to celebrate the beautiful complexity of our natural world and inspire a deeper connection to our environment—and to each other.

Four years ago, Julie and her husband relocated from the West Coast to Wisconsin to be closer to their children and grandchildren. They have come to love the quiet beauty, warm community, and gentle rhythm of small-town life. Her new home has also provided a wealth of creative inspiration for my art. From the rural landscapes and historical architecture to the local wildlife and charming social events, she is continually inspired by and challenged to capture the essence of this part of the world.

Meet the artists of "Homegrown: Locally Sourced Art from the Rock River Region", on display at FAC through this Saturday, October 17.

Tina Springstead has lived in the Cambridge area since the 1970s. She currently lives on Lake Ripley with her husband, David, and her best friend, Doc...a chocolate lab. She enjoys gardening, cooking for friends, and walking with Doc at the Lake Ripley Watershed Preserve. She's been addicted to watercolor painting since picking up a brush in 2018.

Meet the artists of "Homegrown: Locally Sourced Art from the Rock River Region", on display through October 17 at FAC.

Kristin Silva is a visual artist based in Lake Mills, Wisconsin. She creates vibrant, colorful landscapes and still life paintings that establish a strong sense of place. Kristin works primarily in watercolor, gouache, and soft pastels, on paper or panels. Kristin has a Bachelor of Science in Art from the University of Wisconsin—Madison. She is a member of the Wisconsin Visual Artists—South Central Wisconsin Chapter, and the Arts Alliance of Greater Lake Mills.

Kristin's connection to the landscape in Jefferson County is rooted in a deep sense of observation, belonging, and curiosity. Through her work, she explores the ways natural environments shape memory, emotion, and identity, finding inspiration in changing light, seasonal transitions, and the subtle details that often go unnoticed. Kristin explores the changing relationships between land, water, and sky, using transparent layers and fluid marks to capture both the physical character and emotional resonance of a place. She is drawn to the subtle transitions of light, color, and weather that transform familiar scenes, revealing beauty in the ordinary. Rather than creating a literal record of the landscape, she seeks to convey the experience of being present within it—inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the natural world through their own memories and observations.

Meet the artists of "Homegrown: Locally Sourced Art from the Rock River Region", on display at FAC through October 17.

Janet Nelson lives in Cambridge and is a resident artist at the . She mainly does florals, but also likes to do plein air as it helps her to not overthink. Because she works in acrylics, she doesn't have a lot of time for that, as the paint dries quickly outside, so it necessitates making quick decisions.

Born and raised in Wisconsin, life took her other places in the US. Returning to Wisconsin and getting to explore it more as an adult has given Janet an appreciation for the wide variety of geography, lifestyles, and cultures here.

Meet the artists of Homegrown: Locally Sourced Art from the Rock River Region", on display at FAC through October 17.

Lynette Redner was raised in the rural area of Clinton, Wisconsin, and returned after spending 20 years in Arizona. Her art centers around landscapes and animals, being inspired by nature. Her mediums are watercolor, oil, acrylic, and water-miscible oils. Lynette is primarily self-educated by researching through many avenues. In the past 9 years, she has participated in art workshops from international and nationally known artists. She plans to keep working diligently on her artistic skills with a greater focus on wildlife and animals. You can find her painting in her studio at the Alden House, Janesville, WI, or painting outside in the rural areas of Wisconsin, especially in Walworth, Rock and Jefferson Counties. Painting outdoors is her favorite studio of all. At her home, in Richmond township, south of Whitewater, she spends time creating watercolors. She attends several plein air events annually and exhibits at Midwest art fairs. Lynette teaches oil, watercolor, and acrylic classes at the Alden House: Anne Rosa Interior Design and the Beloit Art Center. Private lessons are offered for ages 16 and up. She has received several awards at various events and shows her art throughout Wisconsin. Additionally, she published a book titled “Barnyard Talk,” available on Amazon. Meet the artists of "Homegrown: Locally Sourced Art from the Rock River Region".

Carol Jacobson strated painting three years ago after retiring from Nasco. She and her husband moved to Fort Atkinson in 2000, and they love it. Carol enjoys the natural beauty of the area and her work reflects that.

See her artwork in the "Homegrown" exhibition on display at FAC through October 17.
