BASE Fort Atkinson serves kids during the crucial hours when school is out. We offer quality programs both after school and during the summer.

Our team is ready for back to (after)school!

We had one day of in house training and we had the privilege of joining Madison Out of School Time's (MOST) conference at the where our team was able to meet other OST professionals and participate in a variety of professional development sessions.

We are excited to be opening our doors to our new facility for kids ages 4 & up on Tuesday, September 1st. The start of the 2026-2027 school year marks our 21st year offering programs to kids in Fort Atkinson!

And that's a wrap for our 2026 Summer Program.

Kiddos to our team. They showed up...every day. For our kids and each other. We are so incredibly grateful to each of them for making this all happen.

We had 11 weeks of summer this year and it was one for the books! It was our first official summer in our new space which meant...

💜 We opened three Early Childhood Classrooms so we could serve kids ages 4-5-6.
💙 We participated in the Summer Feeding Program so every BASE kid received two free meals a day.
💚 We played as much as we could outside on our new playground equipment.
💜 Our enrichment classrooms were buzzing with daily activities.
💙 We did a lot of laundry and a lot of dishes, usually with a smile.
💚 We had FUN!

Thank you to all those who joined us for our STEM, Art and Talent Show to celebrate our BASE kids and all their talents. This end of the summer celebration has become one of our favorite traditions.

Thank you Fort Atkinson Parks & Rec and the Aquatic Center team for an incredible summer of fun at the pool. Our BASE kids look forward to every visit!

We want to extend a sincere thank you to Giraffe Electric for donating and installing TVs in our enrichment and early childhood classrooms!

Their team has been instrumental in our renovations including installing a brand new fire alarm system, completing all electrical upgrades, setting up our new camera system, providing essential tech and AV improvements, wiring in our commercial kitchen equipment, and showing incredible patience with our team and our many questions.

Their expertise and support have made a tremendous impact on our facility and programs, and have been essential in keeping our kids safe every day.

EC Week 10-Around the World Recap

🎶 Music Around the World
International music filled our classrooms during free play all week long! Children enjoyed listening, dancing, and playing as they explored music from different parts of the world.

🎨 Adventure Room
Our Adventurers made colorful Mexican maracas to make our own music, and created Chinese fans to stay cool outside!

🎭 Curiosity Room
Our Curious friends created beautiful Chinese fans and festive Brazilian Carnival masks. We talked about how celebrations around the world can include music, dancing, bright colors, and beautiful decorations. We also made rain sticks and Japanese Cherry Blossom art.

🧳 Discovery Room
Our Discoverers were busy getting ready for an imaginary trip around the world! They made paper suitcases and passports before joining in a fun game of International Musical Chairs.

🎤 Whole Group Fun
We continued practicing for our Talent Show every day, building confidence and cheering each other on! We also had Water Wednesday filled with water play, laughter, and lots of fun. 💦☀️

We can’t wait to see where our adventures at BASE take us for our final week for the summer program!✈️💙

Kids tested their taste buds with candy color guessing 🍬
Learned about recycling in our village meeting ♻️
Built statues 🗿
Crafted with the chomp saws 🪚
Made mini pizzas 🍕
and sent destination letters ✉️🌎.

🚀✨ SPACE WEEK Early Childhood Recap at BASE! ✨🚀

Our Adventure, Discovery, and Curiosity classes blasted off into an out‑of‑this‑world week filled with creativity, imagination, and hands‑on fun!

🛸 Discovery Class
Clay Aliens . Kiddos sculpted their own extraterrestrial creatures
Rocket Packing Lists. Colorful lists of everything they’d bring on a trip to the moon.

🌕 Curiosity Class
Tin‑Foil Moons. Painted textured moons using tin foil and qtips 🎨

👽 Adventure Class
Paint & Pipe Cleaner Aliens . Bright, silly, creative alien friends
Paper Plate Earths. Painted planet Earths full of color 🌍

🚀 Adventure + Curiosity
Straw Rockets. Designing, building, and launching their own rockets into “space”

🌟 Whole Group Fun
Space Race Relay. Carrying moon rocks, orbiting around the sun, and balancing with “no gravity” 🪐
Constellation Creations. Marshmallow + pretzel constellations for Food Friday ⭐

Our BASE kids brought so much imagination and energy to Space Week. We loved watching them explore the universe together! 🌌💫

Our Space Week was full of out‑of‑this‑world fun! Kids dove into STEM, art, cooking, and classic BASE activities that made the week shine.
