Big Shout Out to Roo for joining us for the program on October 16th.
Despite having no front legs, certified dog trainer, Angel Girard saw potential in him. Now Roo is a registered Therapy Dog and titled Trick Dog!

Save A Pet, in partnership with the Monroe County Library, hosted a Reading To Rescues Program on Friday, October 16th.
Children spent a special afternoon reading to rescue dogs at shelter. The event brought together young readers and dogs in need of loving homes, creating an opportunity to share the joy of reading while showing kindness and compassion to animals.
There were games, raffle prizes, giveaways, music, as well as yummy snacks with great fellowship!
Programs like this can benefit both young readers and rescue animals. Children gain valuable reading practice, while dogs receive attention, companionship, and positive experiences with people.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this special event possible!
Also, Thank You to Sweet Little Roo for his guest appearance! 🐾
Every child deserves the chance to become a confident reader, and every rescue dog deserves love, patience, and a second chance at a happy life!

Follow along in the pictures as our Sweet Zoe thoroughly enjoys an adventure with her new friends from the Mary Persons High School Cross Country team!
Yesterday the student athletes come to our shelter to volunteer. They sure loved on our pups!
Zoe went for a long walk on our walking trail in the woods. Then she was given a nice bath! 🧼🛁
Zoe is such a sweet pup- and she is available for adoption. 💜
She is about 3 years old, weighs 40ish pounds, is very friendly with all people and other dogs!
Zoe is house trained and crate trained as well.
She will make a great addition to just about any family!

We were so grateful to have had the Mary Persons High School Cross Country Team come out and volunteer this afternoon! The students walked, bathed, and loved on our dogs.
We even had a surprise visit from 13 WMAZ for a pre-interview for our Reading To Rescues event on Friday!
We are thankful these kids were there to clean the kennels and help us prepare for our big day!
Thanks again for spending part of your fall break and donating your time to help our homeless pups.
