This week's article in The Wall Street Journal takes an in-depth look at the challenges facing Georgia’s forest economy.

The 2026 GFA Annual Conference was about more than gathering together—it was about learning, sharing ideas and preparing for what's ahead.

Our Learning Labs brought together experts from University of Georgia Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources, Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and Georgia Tech to explore the ideas, technologies and challenges shaping Georgia forestry.

From precision forestry and advanced wood science to forest management, wildlife and workforce development and forest carbon markets and the future of forest products, attendees left with insights to take back to their businesses, communities and forests.

Thank you to our presenters and everyone who joined us for these important conversations.

The Georgia Forestry Commission is seeking collaborators for an upcoming Request for Collaborators (RFC) process.

Attendance at a mandatory pre-proposal meeting is required for companies wishing to participate. During the meeting, attendees will learn more about the opportunity, the collaboration process, and the upcoming RFC.
