We were proud to host Governor Brian Kemp, Speaker Jon Burns, Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler Harper and other state leaders at the Georgia Forestry Association office for the signing of key agriculture and forestry legislation.

These bills reinforce the importance of our state’s #1 industry—supporting landowners, strengthening forest markets, and ensuring a sustainable future for Georgia’s forests.

Grateful for the leadership and partnership that supports our forests and the communities that depend on them.

'A Night to Celebrate Forestry' - cohosted with Florida Forestry Association.

Last night, we had a great time bringing Georgia and Florida together to celebrate forestry.

Healthy forest markets are critical to long-term conservation—and sustaining the forests we value will take continued partnership and shared commitment across our region.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening a success.

We encourage any and all who are eligible for the Hurricane Helene Block Grant to apply. Due to the wildfires, the application deadline has extended through May 11th at midnight.

In response to the wildfires across Georgia, I am extending the application deadline for Hurricane Helene Block Grant Program to May 11, 2026.

We would never put Georgia farmers in a situation where they would be forced to choose between responding to this current natural disaster or submitting their application for relief from last.

🔥 Wildfire Update – South Georgia

An estimated 27,000+ acres of wildfires are intensifying across the region, with evacuations underway in multiple communities. Heavy smoke and dangerous conditions remain as dry weather persists. Please stay weather aware, follow all local guidance, and keep those impacted in your thoughts and prayers.

“This is a serious and evolving situation,” said Tim Lowrimore, President & CEO of the Georgia Forestry Association. “Our thoughts are with the wildland firefighters, families, businesses and communities being impacted. We urge all Georgians to remain vigilant. Preventing additional fires right now is critical as responders work to manage this emergency.”

We commend the Georgia Forestry Commission and first responders working around the clock to contain these fires and protect lives, property, and working forests.

GFA stands with our forestry community and is committed to supporting long-term forest health, resilience, and responsible management.
