We had such an amazing turnout for our first Magpie's Purple Halter gathering yesterday - I am still processing the incredible outpouring of support and energy that everyone brought with them and will be posting about it directly later today. However, I wanted to just quickly share that we have two super lovely and loving fosters available for adoption through our efforts! Rhonda and Russel are two adult kitties looking for their forever people. They are both around 2-3 years old, fixed, and have their first round of vaccines. Both of them are super sweet and love attention and pets, though Russel can be a little shy at first and needs more time to settle in. Once he does, get ready for your space to be invaded! If they could crawl inside your skin to better snuggle, they would!

They do not have to be adopted together, please reach out to get more information on these sweet creatures and please feel free to share! I'd love to get these kids a home for Christmas.

🦋 Introducing The Winter Chrysalis

This winter, we’re opening the barn doors for something a little different.

The Winter Chrysalis is a six-month journey of somatic and relational healing with the herd, guided by Kelsey Leatherman, Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner and Magpie’s Purple Halter board member.

Once a month, a small group will gather with our horses to slow down, turn inward, and listen more deeply. Together we’ll move with the seasons, from winter’s stillness to the first stirrings of spring.

- Six Sundays: Nov 15, Dec 13, Jan 17, Feb 21, Mar 14 and Apr 4
- Two hours each, here at Black Horse Hollow in Forest Grove
- Limited to 10 participants
- No horse experience needed

$611 paid in full, or $111 a month. A community rate is available, so please don’t let cost be the reason you don’t reach out.

This was literally our back yard…😞🖤

Mary Kimsey. Rowan Kimsey. Stella Kimsey. Linsey Haraldsen. Alvin Chu.

Three generations of one family, and two friends who drove out to check on them. All five killed last weekend on a rural property outside Forest Grove.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office said this week that the killings began as domestic violence.
A handgun is what made them irreversible.

This is the pattern we see over and over in Oregon. Abuse escalates. A gun is in the house. What might have been survivable becomes a funeral for five.

The warning signs in this case never reached a courthouse. They reached family and friends — which is almost always where they land first. If someone you love is describing fear, control, or threats, take it seriously.
