Quick photo dump of our guests!! I will be providing more formal introductions here shortly, but that requires being able to sit down for more than two minutes and all these babies have me hopping!

Mamma and babies are doing SO well, mamma is eating voraciously and putting on weight every day. Her coat is looking sleek and shiny and she is just the sweetest creature on four legs as well as being an EXCELLENT mom. The beans (her babies) are just about three weeks old now, and are growing like the blackberries in our pasture - that is to say, FAST! The one pictured below I have dubbed "Adventure Bean" as they are a carbon copy of mamma and super gregarious. From day one of their arrival this little heart stopper has been diving out of the nest to come say hello and explore their space - I have a feeling this one for certain is going to stay and become part of the BHH security detail!

Daddy is a sweetheart as well but takes a little bit of warming up to let that softer side show - not surprising considering he's had a pretty big change and unfortunately due to them both being extremely fertile 😅 he must be separated from his lady love and the babies. I've been spending as much time as possible with him but we would love to get him neutered as quickly as we can so that he can have some more space to get comfortable and hopefully find his new people! He is a medium haired baby with the most adorable white whiskers and golden eyes, just wants to love and be loved.

Hi all, I just wanted to touch base and let everyone know that I am starting to feel better, my meds have finally kicked in. I don't get migraines nearly as often as I used to back east, but any time the barometric pressure changes my body likes to let me know by stabbing me repeatedly in the back of one of my eyes to the point where I am incapacitated by nausea, light, and sound sensitivity. This used to happen at least a couple of times a month when I lived on the east coast but since I have been in Oregon the frequency has decreased to the point where I almost forget they are a thing until season weather patterns change.

That doesn't mean that the critters don't need care however, so I have spent the few upright hours I've reclaimed for the day catching up on not only the needs of the usual suspects, but our newest guests through Magpie's Purple Halter. We have received a number of incredibly generous donations through our Amazon wishlist (THANK YOU!!! I will be sending out thank you notes and donation receipts as soon as I get a moment between scooping cat boxes!) to help make their time with us as comfortable as possible and I am so grateful for everyone's support! A formal introduction post is in the works as our friends settle in and are not as camera shy, but I am working on coordinating with a local vet that will help us set up a spay and neuter fund directly through the clinic that folks can donate to if they would like to help!! All of the critters that we are assisting at the moment are in need of being altered and vaccinated before they can be placed into their new foster or adoptive homes, and any help in this endeavor would be HUGE. There are so many animals in need, rescues are largely unable to take in owner surrenders and shelters often are already at or over capacity - with a large portion of the problem being lack of access to affordable spay and neuter programs to prevent unintended population growth.

Once we have been able to get our friends fixed and certified with a clean bill of health and vaccine records, they will be available for outside foster or adoption. Additionally we would love to connect with our friends that would be interested in being part of the network of safe havens for our furry, feathered, hooved, and horned companions who are in need - those that can take on livestock needing temporary or permanent space, as well as those that would be able to host critters of the 'indoor' variety (cats, dogs, smalls and reptiles). All potential network volunteers will be interviewed and site visits done to evaluate suitability for what species but any interest in assisting in these efforts is welcome!

Thank you again to all of you for your kindness and patience with me as I try to be fifteen people all at once...I know I'm nuts but I also know that there is a need - and what is the point of being the steward of this gift of a home if it can't be utilized for the highest good?

Are any of our friends looking for a new small furry companion? Magpie's Purple Halter is assisting with rehoming a survivor's pets and are looking for a spot for a male 3 year old lab/shepherd mix (unaltered), two adult domestic short haired cats, one male, one female with a litter of two week old kittens (both adults are unaltered at this time as well). I will be getting photos shortly and posting more information as I get it! Please spread the word and reach out to me with any questions! Below is our Amazon wish list for Magpie's Purple Halter, what we are in need of for this group would be the frontline for cats (immediate need), and frontline for a 60lb dog along with any of the food options we have listed on there! We are happy to get you donation receipts for any goods purchased!

We are desperately in need of volunteers for a couple of areas, as I am but one small human juggling far too many important spinning plates! I just want to help people and do some good in the world - but it's becoming more and more apparent we need more hands to do it right!

Hello all! I know it's been a minute since we've shared, we've been doing a lot of work in the background to get the nonprofit operational alongside the daily running and maintenance of the ranch which is a fun balance to reach!

I am posting as we have a survivor that we are assisting with transitional housing and are in need of a few things to help make the space comfortable for them and their pet! I've attached a link to our amazon wishlist, which has some items, but not all of them are on there just yet so I am also going to include that list here! We are happy to provide receipts for any donations given, though we are not accepting monetary contributions just yet as we finalize the bank account configuration with my credit union.
